Can anyone remember when Top Gear was a programme about cars rather than a comedy programme featuring cars?

That Cooper looks to be in tip top condition. Can't believe the guy is standing right on the bonnet!!

Wonder who's it was before Top Gear got their hands on it..

I bet Hammond was going to show off the minis amazing handling and then predictably all the stuff on the roof falls off :)

Its lost its way over the last 3 years, and I think now I hate top gear, if they destroy that mini then it will most likely be the final nail in the coffin.

Top Gear has indeed lost its way over the last few years. Its not the program it used to be but instead its a piss take of the British "bread and butter" cars. I went off TG a long time ago and wouldn't be surprised if they make an arse of the mini. The sad thing is, Top Gear is paid for by the humble Tax payers and they destroy the cars that the average Joe public can only afford to buy.

Word of advice: if they do destroy the car then don't raise to the bate otherwise they will destroy more! Jeremy and his puppets are just bell ends!

does it really matter if they destory the car?

its a car.

people will love it, just dont be suprised if minis start getting damaged, like robin reliants did after their episode on those.

Top gear will always be genius, at least it's only a rover mini if they destroy it not a mk1 or mk2, so either way it'll be epic :P

I bet you won't be saying that when some pikey starts jumping up and down on your car or puts a brick through your window or kick the door panels in because they think it's cool as Top Gear destroy these silly little cars! I have some friends down south who own Marinas and other BL cars and after Top Gear started destroying the cars, other peoples BL Classics started getting hammered in the street by Top Gear watching Neds.

can you blame top gear if idiots choose to follow?

its like me trying to blame 50 cent because i shoot someone.

i did say people are likely to follow, are you planning some sort of protest?

after all you pay your TV license so have a say in what the BBC show...

lets all protest!

All i'm saying is if people react then Top Gear will destroy more cars and they will pick off the Mk1's and rare cars that people like you and I work hard to restore and keep on the road.
