they would never destory a car if it was expensive tho. if you notice all the cars they destroy are under 3000. and mk 1's and 's are more than that most of the time. its only the rubbish ones they'd destroy.

IMO i reckon they should be donated cars by the police forces that have been taken due to no insurance ect.

I am told..........."nothing nasty happened to the Mini, in fact it was quite serviceable when the filming was completed.
This wasn't your usual £1500 challenge, each presenter was given £7k to buy a car - Richard bought a late W-Reg Cooper Sportspack.
It was modified during filming with steel wheels and chunkier tyres being fitted to cope with gravelly roads.
Rest assured though, it wasn't completely trashed."

Fortunately, looking at the press pictures, the Mini seems to be the least modified. Just hope the cars went to good homes afterwards and not left to rot in the Top Gear car park! Although having a Mini featured in the show can only do good, cant wait to watch it later!
