This is a pretty poor question considering I was on the run in 2010, but once you've arrived at Crystal palace and taken your tent spot, are you allowed back out in the car? Last year my girlfriend and I went on the bus trip (pretty bad idea to be honest, we both visit London all the time) and then just walked around aimlessly gawking at Minis. Not saying that's no fun though  . I was wondering if there were any good driving roads not far from CP.

OR, even better, assemble a big convoy and invade Central London. That would be pretty fun.

Top of last page you said you couldn't go!

Is the run always around the same time in May? Can't go this year due to exams but I'm already thinking about 2013

I know  ! I'm not going this year, but I wanted to know what the rules generally are. No harm in discussing it despite not being a participant, right? :shy:

I thought that may have been the case but the way you wrote that, it sounded like you was going!

You can leave the grounds, though. I drove to the Tesco at the bottom of the hill because I had a pregnant girl (as opposed to boy???) in the passenger seat. As long as you're back before the gates shut in the evening.

Managed to get the saturday off work, so I can get down there 12ish when the gates open and be a tourist for the day. :)

15 sleeps. Excited much... :D

LSMOC know about the event there, so I'm sure they've got it all figured out.

With Himley being cancelled tomorrow, this will be mine & my girlfriend's first mini event ever (I only passed my test 3 months ago)! Just wondering if anyone else is driving down from the Rugby area? I don't know even anyone else who drives a mini, haha!

Yes you are (or at least you were the last time I camped at Crystal Palace any way). You can come and go with your car as often as you like up until they close the gates on Saturday night, which from memory is at about 10pm. If you're not back by then, you can still walk in and out of crystal palace on foot to get to your tent, but you will have to park your car outside and bring it in when the gates open again in the morning.

On the schedule for the two days, it says 8-10pm on the saturday is for lining up the cars. Does this have to be done at this time or can I do it in the morning, or even a bit later? Champions league final is on and me and my mates wanted to go and watch it, but it's slap bang in the middle of that time :(
