Is the run always around the same time in May? Can't go this year due to exams but I'm already thinking about 2013

I doubt it, you have to have a L2B ticket to drive into Madeira Drive on the day.

Family Camping - need some advice please....

I'm going with my two sons (6yrs & 4yrs) and am obviously keen we get a camping spot, so a couple of things spring to mind:
  • is there a "family" area?
  • what time should I aim to get there to ensure a spot?
  • any experiences from others on here, having taken young family in the past?
Thanks in advance.
Nick

Well... it's good to get an early night but there was music going on last year from some - really, really nice, I must say - Minis up on a hill until about 10/11ish. You get up about 5/6 ready to leave at 7:30 if I remember correctly.

There isn't a designated family area but it's not exactly like the grounds are family unfriendly. Plus there's a garden maze just over a wall that I never went in but a friend of mine did. They might enjoy that.

There's also a Tesco Metro/Express at the bottom of the hill by the entrance to Crystal Park if they get peckish and you don't want to pay burger van prices.

If they get bored easily then it may be worth taking some games down. Maybe their DS or PSP if they have one. And extra batteries.

Hey I see you're in Hampshire. Whereabouts are you from? I'm from Basingstoke and we'll (well not me. Can't afford it this year) be convoying down to get there about 10 or 11am I think.
