When putting photos on off photo bucket, use the IMG links so your photos show up in your posts

Cool cheers Andy thought I might be replacing them.
Think I'll take it down to an engineering firm and get it sorted out.
That's what I thought but if it slipped it wouldn't be sitting in the opposite side perfectly snug but I'm thinking that could only be the case as there would be some damage if it happened in the engine during use.
Will upload photos of pistons see what people think going to flicks now to see sherlock Holmes might crack on a bit more tomorrow after work

When rebuilding mine one corner of a piston was a bit pitted, I give it a light emery rub, reringed it and reused it, touch wood its been fine

its up to you though, new pistons are a pricey affair

Theres quite a bit of varnish in the gearbox casing and on the pistons, looks like the oil wasn't changed very often!!

Ate I think that was a problem from last owner as the rockers had problems when I serviced the head last year.
Can I clean the gearbox/transmission out with all parts still intact?

Cramk is now off, the bearing nearest to the timing chain has a rubber seal but there was a build up of black gunk either from the seal breaken down or a form of sealent.

Oil gallery plugs there should be three on a 1275 is that correct? i only found two on one side one was open up already for a securing bolt?

Got the block bin soaked in jizer now going to clean it down and strip the paint then work on the head.

Can the piston bores just be polished down with a polishing kit.

using a honing tool with a fine set of stones. use plenty of oil in the bores when doing this. quick motions up and down, only takes seconds. dont over do it.

There are four oil gallery plugs...two at each end.
