i liked the episode anyway just happy to see the little mini back in the limelight :D !

Exactly!

how many will think about the rolls or jag from the program? not many.

try popping over to the roller forum they are up in arms about the big wheel mods and the fact a mini had to pull a roller up a hill

they never damaged the mini beyond repair, they didnt do what fifth gear did and smash it into another car! top gear had obviously prepped the mini for the stunt as to me it looked liked they ground the front end welds beforehand so it didnt twist or buckle anything!

they showed it romping up the hill climb course and it looked and sounded fantastic, infact it looked good the whole way through the film! think they showed what it was made of and didnt wreck it! if its a insurance write off then i think they were quite tame doing only what they did to it! lets not be the MMOC and make a big fuss out of it!

Agreed, I'd doubt any of us would want to see 'careless airways' drop a piano onto any of our minis! :S

I'd rather not thanks  to be honest, I was perhaps a bit naive with my statement, but all I'm trying to say is... the mini did us proud, as it has done for the last 52 years.

Eh? ... We're talking about modern Top Gear here!! .....It ceased to be a serious motoring programme when it was relaunched in 2002 and Clarkson rejoined. Since then it's only ever been an entertainment show loosely themed on motoring.

I thought it was nice to see the classic mini in it, but as Top Gear specials go I thought it was by far the worst one so far. Previous challenges have tended to involve getting from A to B in cheap cars, but this time didn't they have a car budget of something like £7k each?? The challenge seemed to be to the whole improving trade relations farce, coupled with randomly driving along a few Indian roads and up into the Himalayas?? Also the staged "things going wrong" bits really did appear overly staged and very obvious this time.

So all in all, whilst it was watchable, it was all too predictable and rather disappointing. I think Top Gear need to either change the recipe, or call it a day.

it was painful to see the front end slowly torn off the mini...but what did you expect ? it's top gear, i saw that coming as soon as hammond put a winch on the front and braced it across the wings, it was all staged. that mini is still salvageable, new wings, front panel, a panels. job done

when they strapped the crates to the roof was worse in my opinion, dented roof and bent gutters...

i still enjoyed the episode, i think top gear is the best.
