Getting mighty close to the deadline now, booked the mot for a week and a halves time. So its got to be running for then!!
Haven't had a chance to do anymore, mainly because I went out and got drunk last night instead of doing anything... That was a mistake.

Welding completed, I have done some spraying but no photos

started doing some engine prep
Done the valve clearances, new rocker gasket, new engine mounts and bolts.

also I painted the fan pulley and alternator bracket

Have also rigged up the crane/hoist thingymajig ready for tomorrow

will be hanging the the block and tackle off the bar along the top and then just man-handling up and over.
Also I can't seem to get to the bottom of the "wobbly" wheel problem it seems to stick out a bit more than the other side too

normal side

wobbly side.
It sort of clunks and moves back and forth, although you can't see it wobble you can feel and hear it. I suspect the bearing hasnt seated properly in the hub, so I'll be taking that off again soon

Thanks for looking people!

Well today this happened

(new engine mounts)

So yeah I think you've got the idea now, the engine is back in!!!!!!!

Engine mounts torqued up

(don't really know why you want to see this

I also started to put some stuff back on the engine and painting some stuff to make it look nice and tidy

Painted the radiator cowling, breather, and slave cylinder mounting plate.

I've put the starter motor, thermostat, top engine steady, oil filter and pipe (not finished need some gaskets paper), oil breather, and had a go and figuring out where the wiring loom goes, it's not too bad really sort of just falls back into place.

Also got my new radiator

Thats all for today, I think... haha. Tomorrow I should be getting a good day on it tomorrow get another load of stuff plumbed in hopefully the exhaust etc. This time next week I'd like to have it in a position to start it up and see if it goes. That reminds me I need some more spark plugs.
Right thats enough from me today, I'm off to eat my body weight in steak and then sleep for 12hours.
Thanks for looking!!!

Just got the driveshafts and front hubs on and greased up the balljoints, radius arms, and top arms.
Had a good old struggle with the driveshafts, the passenger side had popped out of it's joint so was "longer" than it should of been, which was causing me to become really irritated when trying to get hub on, until my dad came down noticed it and popped it back it, felt like a bit of a knob!

BUT, Over the weekend, I think sunday, I managed to rupture and tear my groin muscle and cause a muscle hematoma

Hopefully my mate who's been helping me out will be coming over and doing some work for me to see if he/we can sort this engine.
But also even if the engine runs and starts and it's finished for L2B this weekend, whether I'll be able to move my left leg properly to drive it is another question.
Not good news, although it does give me some time to research engine builds/engine swaps.
Hopefully I'll get some photos up tonight if nothing else

I, well my mate, took out this bolt, which was chewed up a bit

IT RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sounds much better now as I've put the back box one!
I was extremely surprised when after 1 turn of the key it burst into life! chuffed!!!

anyway here are some photos of the car now

(foggy doing the work, while I was sat on my arse!)

how its sitting now, needs to go much lower!

Only a few more things to do now, Foggy is coming back over tomorrow to do the clutch and brakes, Hopefully I'll have it ready for this weekend and depending on my leg I might make L2B
Thanks for looking people!

I have booked the car in for an MOT Friday, but I think I might cancel it, and not rush to get it finished.
Anyway last night

I have also run into another problem, the manifold seems to be leaking from the head, I had lost one of the manifold nuts so used a different one with a washer, but the washer bent under the strain. I have got another manifold nut so will try that but I have a gasket on order too!
I'll get some photos up later!!!

here are some photos of stuff that I fitted

Alternator

Radiator, fan and belt.

Clutch master cylinder
This was all obviously fitted before i started the engine, just forgot to put the photos up!

My "to do" list. A little longer than I want.

Foggy and my girlfriend bleeding the brakes!!

The suspect manifold nut, causing the leak, luckily I found a proper manifold nut and fitted it and the leak has stopped! I have a new gasket on the way though, so will probably end up changing it anyway.
Right, urgent stuff I want to get done soon.

Driver side door repair, will cut this out and weld in a new patch, as it is right on top of the seat belt mount.

Indicator wiring minus the connectors!

Wiring for the temperature gauge on the radiator, the connectors looking worse for wear!

Need to mount the ECU, was thinking of moving it inside the cabin to free up some space. Not sure how much work this will be.

More rust that needs treating on the roof guttering.

Found all my receipts from bits I have bought, might total them up, or might not, could make me depressed haha!
I have canceled the MOT and any hope for L2B, but, at least I get some extra time to get everything done properly instead of rushing around. Hopefully it will be done in about 2 weeks, hopefully...
