The only problem with investing in a Mk 1 Cooper S is that you'd in 20 years time or whatever, you'd know that if you held on to it a few more years it would probably be worth even more, then even more after that...

There was a Mini being sold outside, with a reg plate being sold seperately for £1500. Reg was M1 NYG or something like that.

That rotting shed outside was worth nothing. I think he was trying to sell the doors and stuff separately wasn't he? I can't see anybody taking that thing on as a project, way too much work there, the vehicles documents is what the owner is trying to sell, not the vehicle.

Autojumble was rubbish today, I thought. Hardly anything interesting at all and silly prices for common parts. Mini spares didn't seem to have much there, too. On the other hand, I did manage to order some rear seat covers, so I can finally get rid of the horrible brown seats :D Now I need to go on mini spares website to order what I couldn't get at the show...

The Sportspack was actually reasonable price though! Numberplate not so much.

Anyone else spot the £640 set of kerbed wheels that looked like saucepans?

The mk1 1965 cooper shell for £9500 was a lot of money but looked like a proper 1965 shell to me correct sunvisor holes etc. Trouble is there is nothing else with it so you would be spending another £10,000+ for all the right bits and putting it together. I'm sure you could find a nice cooper s for £20,000.
Lots of scrap for stupid money. If its proper scrap, weigh it in don't sell it on lol. Some guys i was standing next to bought some pistons and rods for £130 then after handing the money over noticed a chunk out of one of the pistons as they were putting them in a bag, they were gutted! I'd have demanded my money back. I saw some cooper s recliners for sale that were there last year and a mk1 cooper 997 project, so it just shows some people just want to much money for stuff.

1st stall I went to had an A+ flywheel housing (used) which I needed. I asked the vendor how much and he grunted "£25". Told him that was too much for me. The stall next door to him had one as well, so I was happy to part with a tenner for it to the much friendlier bloke who even put it in a bag for me

I almost bought two left hand mk2 tail lamps at £10 each >_<
bought one off the person, then went to find a right hand, went to one stand and he said
'how much did you pay for the one you have?'
'£10'
'wont sell you it for that, £15!'

so i went away, found a bloke with a box full for £10 ahaha.

i went back to the £15 guy though, he sold me a set of cibie oscar spot lamps for £20 so im well happy :D

Parts looked like silly money in places, couldn't understand how they could charge some of the prices they were asking for what was essentially scrap.

There were a couple of really nice everyday minis though on the car parks for decent prices though to be fair.

Did anyone else see that wreck they were trying to flog for £1400 on the trailer outside though, was a right state for that money!

Bogus 2. The most overpriced thing there, £40,000 and it's still relatively slow down the 1/4 mile....

I've never been to Bingley, are the extortionate autojumble prices unique to that particular show then or something? I've been to loads of other shows though and autojumble prices do seem to vary a little from stall to stall, but generally tend to be fairly reasonable. Is it a case that being a mid winter show so many months before all the big summer events, the autojumble guys at Bingley have the monopoly and so whack up their prices, knowing that people will flock there desperate to pay over the odds for parts to complete their winter projects?

Sounds about right. Looks like they're clearing out all the tat they didn't sell at the previous year's Summer events. Pretty much everyone was selling the same sort of stuff. Odds n ends. I think some people on here need to learn bartering skills though. Stand your ground people! :turtle:

Elf front indicators/sidelights £80 each. They looked good but seemed a bit expensive.

Did manage to get 2 front wings, a panels, flitchs, scuttle repairs and the pieces for under them, front floors and a GB badge for £140 all new which i thought was good. From mini spares it would of been over £210 from mini spares and thats not with delivery!

We picked up a pair of indicator/sidelight units for our Hornet project for £30! Great condition with bulbs in! there was another set we spotted for £40 but the chap wouldn't budge on price at all!
