I wish I'd taken the paper of the roof now and got some pictures with the roof visible, it honestly looks amazing, looks so different from when she was blasted, makes it seem so much more worth while, I'll give your thread a read now, never seen it :S

Hello again everyone, time for another update, quite a fair bit done this time, suspension wise..

Finally cleaned the steering rack (camera's auto-focus is terrible) But it's shiny.. or, it was

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Then got out the cheap aldi electric compressor dad's had for ages and praid it worked as it was never tested when bought.. 4 years ago

Posted Image

Then hung various bit's and bob's up

Posted Image

I forgot to take a picture, but the blacked part was done somewhere else, but then etched all the parts up

Posted Image

Rubbed them down and blacked them

Posted Image
Posted Image

^Ignore the un-etched parts, we ran out etch, and there's not enough parts to mix some more etch up to make it worthwhile.

Then gave the trumpets a once over with thinners

Posted Image

And made them silver

Posted Image
Posted Image

And that's all I managed before it started to rain :(

Soon to be rolling.. soon

We're struggling to find a complete starter button - shrowd and dust cap, that's near, or good condition

Hello again, here's the update I promised for yesterday :P

First off, here it is with the roof on show, still not great pictures, but they'll do for now :P

As many of you know, I've been dieing to get a starter button, that's complete with shrowd, sorry to everyone who I annoyed, but I finally fount one complete, for £20 (used)

I forgot to take a picture of before, but here it is cleaned and masked up

Posted Image
Posted Image

Had a go at the fuel tank, this.. was... absolute torture, but I did it, it wasn't a great shade of clean, more of rust, but it will do

Door handles, before:

After:

Also tried cleaning the brake valve that goes on the rear subframe.. It's hard to clean 20 years of rust

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Also cleaned and etched up some donuts.. But forgot to take pictures :/

That's all, if the weather is good we should be blackening bits today

Thanks
Will

Lovely!

One question. How many litres of red cellulose did you use?
I take it you painted inside and out??

We didn't use cellulose, we used around 8 litres of 2 pack direct gloss, but that was for the whole car, inside out, floors top and bottom, and around 2 litres of black for the roof

Confused which pictures are for today and which arn't >_<

Rubbed a few bits down and blackend the donuts and door handles again though

We left the button in a draft so the paint bloomed :( Decided to paint the button silver instead, and leave the shrowd black

After breathing in a tonne of paint and thinner fumes I'm suprised I'm able to type this and not 100% brain dead.

Got quite a fair bit done this last week

Started rubbing down the rear subframe, as some of it wasn't fully painted we decided to do it again

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Thought I had more pictures of that but apparantly I dont' :mmkay:

Next up was various door part's. Some of these where already etched with the car so we just gave them a once over in primer for now

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Next up was two brackets, at the moment I can't remember what they're for >_< All I know is they where a pain to clean

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

After that, the pedal box, this was worse to clean as it as awkward to get on the wirebrush, it kept snagging in the holes and dragging it down, and I couldn't get in the inside, I done it as best as I could

Posted Image

I thought I had a picture of this clean aswell but I don't
I'll throw it in the next update

After that we filled the tank up with some gone off diesel, to check for leaks, we didn't see any :proud:
But then, we washed inside thoroughly and it leaked through the sender gauge? I've just forgotten what it's called, 30% brain dead from the fumes :D

Handbrake was the next contender
Posted Image
Posted Image

Followed by some pedals, sorry for the blury picture

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Another pedal box related spring

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

And then we gave the subframe it's final coat, I grabbed these pictures quickly before breathing in a tonne of fumes.

Thanks, Will.
