I will try to post up a big update with loads of pictures this weekend but at the moment we aren't finishing before 8/9PM at night so I don't get much time to get on here. We think we have a spray booking too, we are just waiting to confirm.

Sorry mate, struggling with the Internet at work and haven't been getting home until 11PM or later. I'll upload some pics as soon as I get 5 minutes but the car will go for spray next Wednesday, still struggling to find a good 1275 but might have something, just waiting for a phone call.

Ok, time for an update on this! (like a numpty I left the camera at work so will back this up with pics tomorrow)

Car is now sat on it's new adjustable suspension and dampers and is on it's very nice starmags! We obviously can't sort the suspension out until the engine is in etc. but once we get it all together I will spam this page with lots of pics. The car is booked for spray this week and once it is back the build will fly along to completion. We have ordered the dash and centre console from a new contact I made on here so that should be with us soon. We have the clocks and all the stereo stuff ready to go in so that's all ready for when we get the car back.

We have all the little bits and bobs like the wipers and filler cap sat in the unit ready to go on so all we need now is a good pair of classic buckets and a good 1275 engine and we will have everything we need! (wanted adds going up in a minute).


The undersealing is all done now including the extra bits that we do (battery box, boot corners, floor pans etc.) so the car is literally sat waiting for paint. (don't worry, some 12" steelies will go on so there is no chance of ruining the beautiful starmags!).


Once the car is back from paint we will get the electrics finished up, do all the sound proofing, carpets, interior, fuel lines, get the engine in and do the last bits ready for the MOT.

We are 'chomping at the bit' to get this painted so we can give it the final push and get it finished. We are excited, this will be a gorgeous car!

The spray booking has really killed the deadline off. We've also been actively looking for an engine within budget and we haven't found anything suitable which is a bit of a pain.
Best to do things right than to rush them though!

sounds good but yes please send some pics included the driver side door welding job, deadline quite pushed back but better than rushing it through as you said - seems original deadline was too optimistic though... by the way when & where is the TMF meet?

Just a couple of pictures of the door step welding (well one picture of it being done, my phone is having a bad day so the other picture hasn't sent but will upload it when I can get to some wifi). Not much more to say until we get it back from the spray shop, then the build will fly along. Still hunting for a good engine but think we may have found some good seats!
