The base car did have a good exhaust on but I thought I would offer you the option of a different exit, twins look and sound great so it would realy complete the car.

seems the forum has been down a lot lately. Any update on this build? & some picture of how the car looks like at this stage? final delivery date 07/05 now, so the car must be pretty ready?

so another deadline (07/05) which will once again not be met (just the 4th in a row), almost 2 month behind schedule & still nothing to show... I can't say much about the car itself & the quality of the build (since they did not show much except the few pics on this tread) but I can say not to trust those guys regarding the timing they say... I hope that the build quality is as good as the timing was crap...shame as I was so excited to get this built (I guess everyone understood I am the buyer by now)

i hope you havent paid any decent amount of money in advance. if you have please contact me as i have followed this from start with interest. i am concerned that if deadlines are missed what compensation you are offered in relation to that.

in a business world such as construction or even hgv vehicle bodies the suppliers/contractors recieve penalities for missed deadlines.

Hope you get this sorted out mate. As Jordie says above, you should be entitled to some form of compensation for the back-to-back delays.

Please update us all and all the best with it!

I guess as a new business they were to optimistic with their time scale, but what have they got to base it on if its a new business? I have met Beej once and he seemed nice enough but thats not in a client based scenario and to be honest i am getting peeved myself at the moment from three other mini based companies not delivering on time so I know how frustrating it is or must be waiting for a product (thankfully I haven't paid for anything as of yet).

Regards Blue

So the new deadline is monday 7th may? Is the car painted? trimed up? interior fitted?

I know the site went down but i dont think we've seen any recent pictures.

Many thanks for all your posts!

Indeed this waiting and multiple delays are killing me & they were indeed (very) optimistic with the timeframe... But I guess Classic mini are not coming easy, you need to deserve it ;-)

I am sure it will all be fine at the end, I will update you of how it goes - I am not giving up with my dream to have a classic mini =)

It was a shock for me coming on here and finding this. We were overly optimistic with the original deadline but we have also hit a few problems that cannot be helped by ourselves. We offered quite a large amount of compensation for the delay which the buyer 'was' happy with. We have dealt with a large number of customers since we opened and all have been totally satisfied with our work. We made our mistakes as a new business but we have tried our best to rectify any problems. For instance, this build budgeted for second hand classic bucket seats, as a form of apology for the late deadline we went out and bought a brand new pair of seats to perfectly match the car. We did our best with the build but the buyer did not want to wait (which is fair enough) so we offered a FULL refund with no costs incurred at all. The last time I spoke to the customer he was happy enough with this outcome, now I read on here that we cannot be trusted.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me or Carl as we are totally open with everyone.

I would ask a mod/admin to remove this thread please, anyone who wants to voice an opinion on us is welcome to do so but this is not the place and as this build has now ended, the thread is surplus to requirements.

Im not sure what that reply is about. There are no comments on here that I would find shocking. TMF nor its members have directly said anything about you or your business, they have only followed this with interest as they would any other project log. This was published on here by yourselves so open to public comments and crtizims (sp?). I dont read any posts saying you cannot be trusted or checking the quality of the build etc. Only some friendly advice and some keen interest from other members, who may potentially be your future customers on a similar type of build.

From a TMF point of view, if the buyer is satisfied with a refund and the outcome, then this topic can be closed/removed. I have sent the buyer a message to confirm this.

Locked pending reply from buyer.

It must be said that I was never "offered" a full refund but I had to demand full refund in a single payment after I was proposed a "refund schedule within months that would fit the company cash flows" (pretty shocking to me) - I had to agree to give them another month (so 5th deadline 07/06 now) to refund me, in the hope they can finish the car & sell it to refund me.

As with the fact I was "happy enough", no I am not happy at all obviously (I paid a lot of monies more than 2 months ago and now have to wait another month to hopefully have my money back and go somewhere else to buy my first classic mini...) and had to agree the delays as I had little other choice... Let see now if they do the right thing & refund me before 07/06 - the sooner the better for everyone I think.
