Good effort on the red engine paint. Everyone knows thats an easy extra 10bhp there :)

Will that make getting insurance for a 17 year old more expensive if I declare the red engine?

The colour of the engine won't make any difference to the insurance, sarcasm at its best I think......does look good though.

... And half painted by hand in QD90.

Will get a light rub and gun sprayed at the weekend, but you can't beat an initial brush la yer for good coverage.

Nothing expensive going on here. Just grinding and painting.

Front subby ready for a spray.

Slow progress on this one, mostly as his dad keeps distracting him with other projects, but most parts now cleaned and painted, just rear subframe in progress at the moment.

So, resigned to the fact that it might not even make the paint sop in March, here is the pool car.

Looks can be deceptive though, possibly the best rot free shell I have seen.

As they say, be safe, be seen!

Well the pool car is sold so the lad is now learning to drive in my minivan.

Meantime the final welding is completed on the shell so I stuck lots of layers of enamel on the underneath yesterday.

It is actually smoke grey, but goes on baby blue then dries darker ( I hope! )

slightly frustrating week; few bits bolted on (steering rack, lights, door mechanisms etc) but progress slowed by a damaged headlining and my inability to find the fuel tank. How can you lose a fuel tank?

Will stick some pictures up, probably after a good day on Saturday.
