why do people take pictures of there speedo's when travelling at relatively high speeds seems a bit dangerous :geek:

as long is the electric drill is clamped down well there is no danger

Minis are cool for cornering, roundabouts, and accelerating at traffic lights but you look silly going hell for leather bouncing about, rattling and shaking doing anything over 65mph ....plus your deaf when you get out

Never had my foot flat in any of ours...done maybe 75 on the motorway (once)

Managed to do 85mph in an old 850 years ago. I don't think the speedo was reading correctly as I'm sure that's above the top speed possible

How on Earth do you manage to insure a Mini modified with a 1380 engine at 17 years old? We struggled to insure my Grandson at 17 on a standard 1275.

1380
on the limiter
Was around 113mph

But oil temp and water temp was climbing, as the oil pressure slowly started to decrease.

70 bringing my Cooper home on this "Private Road" called the A127, because thats how fast Mr Bobby will only let me go!! Wouldve hit 88 but I didnt have the 1.21 giga watts of electricity required. Lol in all seriousness, about 70 odd but that was scary enough espescially going past lorries which look HUUUGE when your in a lil low down mini! Plus anything over that and your ears start to bleed from being deafened lol

I've only had 70 out of my 1275 as I don't have the luxury of a private road long enough

I've had it up to 75 (according to the speedo). I know it will do at least 80 as the previous owner used to cruise it down the motorway regularly at that speed. Still got a provisional license though so motorways are out of bounds. Stage 2 head on a 998 so who knows.
