MOT HAPPENED TODAY!
It failed.
He didn't even get the whole way through the test haha. Testing for emissions he got 2.96% rather than what it should be, below 0.6%. Then it began to overheat, and the reading passed 3%. So he decided to stop the test to stop the engine blowing up, and that was it!
Also, after replacing nearly every gasket on the engine, one gasket I didn't replace, the gasket between the diff cover and the gearbox, is leaking. It's leaking pretty badly, and left a large puddle on the floor of the MOT centre.
So it looks like it's gonna be a no go for Bingley in the mini atm! Not sure though.. we'll see.
Thanks,
Simon

Sod's law that is. Hope you get it fixed soon.
Did you replace the lambda sensor? Being an mpi there could be a number of sensors effecting the emissions.

Hi James,
I didn't replace the lambda sensor no, but I'm gonna use a fault reader to check the sensors and suchlike :)

Thanks Mini-Mad-Craig, thanks RossKnight.
Well I'm back from uni for 4 weeks till my exams, and I had a snoop around under the engine today and found the oil leak to be *potentially* an engine out job, so it might have to come back out. I've got a few things to look at first before I know for sure. Hopefully I can get that done in these 4 weeks in between revision and stuff. I would like to have it done for L2B this year but we shall see.
On a brighter note, I pushed it out the garage today to give it a well needed wash:
That rear fog light will be coming off after the MOT... and the tracking and all that malarky is still to be done. Plus, the wheels are going off to be refurbished soon, and will be coming back with diamond cut spokes and rims, and the rest black
Also for my burfday the fagmeister got me a nice new Blaupunkt headunit since mine had broken, and it looks very clean in my badly worn dash!
THANKS CRAIG
Sorry for the poor image quality, I am taking all my photos with a 7mp digital camera thing!
Cheers for looking :)

I think you should save some pennies and get one of these dashes.

With a magnolia center speedo in it it would be the finishing touch to this car! Looking good anyway looking forward to seeing it at some shows again. You two benders doing the retro rides gathering this year?
