The reason I would like to get power steering is I only have one arm and the other has a crack in it.
I also drive a Toyota Townace mpv I can turn that around on a tanner.
Thats why

"Back in the day" you'd have fitted a steering knob to the rim of the steering wheel. [Must refrain from saying 'instead of asking knobs on the interweb'!]

Would that help? That way, you preserve steering feel and response while you're driving but can still manoeuvre and park the car.

... and save a good few quid! :-)

I saw a shortly mini (the bunny one) with one of those steering wheel knobs and it looked much easier to turn the wheel at low speeds. Could be worth looking into.

Once again people on here become rude when someone asks about fitting PS. I swear you'd get less abuse for saying you like the BMW mini or you've scrapped your classic mini.

have you lot not considered the poor chap may have a medical condition?
arthritus or something painful like it?
he may be doing all he can to enjoy his mini!

Well if thats the case, dont buy bloody mini then,

Yeh i can imagine the scenario, yeh urmm, im sorry but you have slipped disks in your back so you need to avoid sudden movements and any kind of harsh jults etc,

Oh right ok then, Well off to drive a classic mini for its sensational comfort....

I know this post is old, but it's worthy of comment - this forum wouldn't exist if people didn't modify and upgrade their cars for the better - to upgrade the crap brakes, dodgy gearbox, rust prone bodywork, leaky engine and the list goes on -

No I wouldn't fit this conversion on a classic cooper, but on a standard car I think it has merits.
