Looking at the bend on the rad hose I would say its a 998, also yellow head points to 998, and looks like 998 carb !

Excuse my ignorance; does this mean it's been modified in any way?

no the hose off the top of the radiator, which then connects to the cylinder head varies slightly between engine capacites.

thats a 998 engine and it has a water heated alloy inlet manifold by the looks of it too, i presume by this that it will probably have an LCB or freeflow exhaust manifold and a big bore exhaust system as well which is known as a stage 1 engine kit.

the wheels are 5x10 mistral alloys (in good condition too judging by the pics)

you have a very tidy mini there.......look after it........... :-)

Agree it's a most likely a 998, 850 or 1098 is possible too, but much of it is right for a Y plate 998 City.

You could look up the engine number to see if it's the high compression version with a 2.95 final drive, a better option for motorways & commuting.

2.95 final drives murder the performance of a 998 (not that they have much performance to start with!)

Either way, I'm not expecting it to get much over 70mph, so it's cool. :)
