Congrats

Will have to remember Graham Sykes for next time

Elephant have started doing Classic Insurance earlier this year and for £10 they value your mini. I don't know how they compare to Graham Sykes but Elephant weren't fused by things like Halogen Headlights, alloys, etc and wanted less than £30 for a stage one kit. (Another option for people looking for Insurance).

cheapest i've found so far is £1650 (once passed) on multicar but the bonus of that is that i'll be insured to drive both my parents cars and vice versa

im 17 and paid 1200 for my limited edition Mini 30 with fully comp but keep forgetting to tell them that i put a stage 1 kit on
(maybe because they don't accept mods for under 25's). quick fit gave me a quote of 1600 fully comp for my 3litre MGC roadster
so will be getting that once ive finished the restoration this month
Who you with pls?

I'm 17 and drive a 1275 Unmodded mini, apart from new arches and a few other cosmetic touches. Costs me £600, passed in March
Who's that with please?

Insure under classic car insurance not your regular insurance. It is after all a classic car if over i think 10 or 15 years old. Also when you notify them of every modification be sure it is noted in your final policy and/or certificate of insurance or your insurance is not worth fudge. Footman james are good.

Really? In 1989 I paid £120 for a 2litre Capri with twin 40s on, dont think a 17 year old would even get a quote for that now!, that was tpft but even still 600 quid was a rip off. I now pay £65 a year on the mini with suspension and other mods declared but I am 40 and it's limited to 2k miles a year. It's amazing how insurance has changed, when I first insured my mini when I was 17 I had a 1100 special and it cost me £600 ( this was 1987 ) fully comp. The mini then wasn't really classed as a classic (most new drivers had a mini) and any insurance company would insure you. Now if you want FC you have to go to a specialist. I won't tell you how much I pay as now (but I am over 40)
