I'm 17 and drive a 1275 Unmodded mini, apart from new arches and a few other cosmetic touches. Costs me £600, passed in March
Who's that with please?
Aviva

When I rang up for my first few quotes, they said that my speaker board, bucket seats and harnesses made the insurance more expensive than my air filter, silly exhuast and FG front end did.
I'd ring them and find out what they have to say.
My modifications are
FG front end, wheels, air filter, arches, zorst, dvd player, spot lights. But the lady at graham sykes (who I'm insured with) says that my occupation, milage and where I live made more of an impact then the modifications.
Hope that this is of some use to you
Ben

21 years old with City E 998 modified to MG metro 1293 with twin carbs, 2 years no claims, £680 a year!
I only have 2 years because I was on my parents policy when it was still allowed!

i feel that same pain, im being quoted 2500+ !!!! iv resorted to waiting until im 18 so its a little cheeper. even then im still expecting to pay a good 2300 or more! its a joke. how do some of you guys insure your mini @ 17 for less than £2000?
Not sure if this is the reason, but location can be a big factor. When I was 17 my insurance on a modified 2litre capri was cheaper than my mates 1300escort because he lived in a 'rough' area. Then when I lived in Cov as a student mine shot up because that bit of Cov was notorious for car crime. I moved 2 miles and it nearly halved!
