Aye not bad for its orginal paint really it's starting to go a bit in the usual places but with a stage 3 MED 1330cc it certainly shifts.

I'll have it off him one of these days and restore it.

Done lots today ! Started off by welding the repair peice in the d/s arch and grinding it all smooth

Then all the welding on top that is near anything on the floor was welded so I could finally flip it! The old man gave me a hand and here you go!


It is perfect hight to sort out the arches, inner wings and floor the tunnel you need to stand on a box to reach with the grinder lol. I have started doing all the final grinding / welding on the d/s and wire wheeled most of the paint off

I have also made the arch to heel board closing panel ready to weld into the p/s
Clamped up

Welded from both sides has now been ground off and given a coat of zinc 182

I have lost the chuck key for my drill so I will be getting a new one in the next few days to get some more cleaned up. Then I will da the whole floor and give it a good coat of etch before seam sealing ready for stonechip and topcoat !

Well.. I can safely say this is going to be my 'bible' for the next few months! Just got a 65 van which needs the same work doing. Just having a quick look through has cleared up a lot of confusion on subframes and gearbox tunnels.

Cheers mate glad I can help! Please bare in mind this van has been re- shelled at some point so my tunnel is not the correct shape everything else I have converted to how it's supposed to be.

Got the last closer panel nearly done today !


Still need to finish welding and grind it off. Welding a a bit crap as my mask busted again ! I will soon be painting the floor!
