Even though I'm not a fan of iphones (or apple for that matter) i'm also disappointed with it. The only thing I like about it is the size and weight, but since Iphones are so fragile anyway, that may not be a good thing :/

The fact they suggest a panoramic photo is something to get excited over is about 5 years late, my last 3 phones have been able to do that and my current phone - Galaxy S2 will do a panoramic action shots as well.

to be honest. I am a big apple fan but I have said time and time again they are on their way down. Steve jobs was apple & now they just another tech company. Look at the new iPhone for example. Think about the changes between 4 and 3GS. The five just looks like someone sat on a 4s and spilt black paint on it. It's improvements are so vague I'd actually class it more as a 4R (couldn't call it an ss the whole Nazi thing) apple are such rip offs as well. A new charger for my MacBook is 65. ??? It didn't even last a year. The retina MacBook pro is a rip off as well. Only problem is. I don't think Samsung are that great either.

My Dad, Brother and myself have had iPhones for the past 5 years and I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen 1st gen Iphones and 4Gs dropped and hit without breaking.

The last thing I'd describe an iPhones as is fragile.

Ok well I can't say your wrong there as I've never owned one. But you do see quite a lot of people with smashed Iphones, and they're fragile enough for a large percentage of people to feel the need use covers and cases at all times - Which to me kills the main advantage of an Iphone which is the nice materials and how it feels in your hand. Where as the majority of other phones are never fitted with cases, and don't have things like 'life proof' cases developed for them because they're just not needed.

It just makes me wonder if now its been made thinner and lighter if this has made it more fragile than before...

I'm a bit of a Android fan and I'm disappointed with the Iphone5, I think of Apple as the competition and when they create a new technology it pushes the other manufactures to go one better. At the moment the Android manufactures are leading and apple are trying to catch up, most of the "new" features have been around for years.

I wouldn't say Apple are trying to catch up, They know that they can put as little tech as they want in and they will sell because it has the Apple brand.
I read somewhere that Apple sold more 4s' than the iphone 4 and there was only tech changes.
Apple know they can 'drip feed' their customers and the product will sell.

I'm still a huge fan of iOS - I think it is much nicer than Android offerings although I do have limited use of android devices. iOS 6 will be a big leap I hope - the dropping of Google maps and use of their own maps (with TomTom nagivation I believe?) for free will be a nice touch.

I see the points about NFC, but it would be nice to incorporate things like your Oyster card on your phone etc.

Many people on sites like stuff.tv keep moaning that it is Samsung who provide the tech for Apple anyway etc and they all seem to be Apple haters on there. Samsung might provide a small amount of the hardware, but it is Apple that puts it altogether and makes good products.

I will no doubt end up sticking with iPhones. I have a MacBook Air which I love, and I still really want an iPad. I'm off to Afghan soon and don't want to risk the Air out there so I'll just take the iPad. With both of those, it makes no sense to switch to something else. It will probably be another 4S though instead of the 5.

As for findmyiphone, I have tried it (well a mate did) but when I lost it the battery was dead and so it wont work, which is a bit of a pain in the backside really.

I do think the new Nokias (Lumia 800 and 900) are probably the best looking phones aside from the 4 and 4S. The 5 for me is not that great.

Disagree. Lets be honest, Apple are still on top and definitely now with the 5 out soon

Edit: and I'm not just saying that because I use apple products, it's the truth. Apple make excellent products that perform awesome and look as good. I've used other top phones and computers, but it's always apple that are on top of the game

I'd only ever used android with phones. When my lappy died I decided to go for an iPad, I am totally sold. They are awesome! My phone contract is up in November, so I'll loose the Xperia and go for an iPhone.

As for people saying they're disappointed, what do you expect? Apple to make it star shaped.... It's thinner, faster, lighter, looks pretty sweet (in black) retina 4"display, iOS6 plus other little features. The 4/4S looked good anyway so why change something that looks nice and obvious sells... and sells well for that matter

Yeah, actually, star shaped would be great!

I agree the 4S does look great. I don't like the styling change they have made with the colour on the back. They have also made it slightly longer, in order to accomodate the screen. I'm not convinced it needed the bigger screen to be honest, and not at the expense of making the phone bigger (although it is now thinner).

Its not about status for me, its a quality product that i enjoy using and looking at, apple do make great products but quite alot are ****, the quality of somethings are awful. The feet on the macbooks always fall off, but like everything they have faults.

However the iPhone 5. Is well rubbish. I'll wait for a 5s/6 or buy a 4s and get a cheaper contract. Im still using a 4 and i Love it :)

I don't like the android os and i dont like the phones.

I have several apple products and dislike them all. Pixels have died and their battery life is awful!
