I do see the points he was making about the keyboard, email etc but it came across as a really picky argument and trying desperately to convince himself that his Android device is better.

The reality is, without both of them pushing each other to do better, we wouldn't have as many features etc as we do now.

I agree Apple don't give the user as much choice and Android are much freer with what can be done. However, this extends to the App store and iTunes as well. Apple has much tighter control and therefore less glitchy apps. In addition, and I don't believe this is a problem to the same extent as it was, but the Android OS is being used across many manufactures and devices, and they aren't all optimised for it whereas the Apple iOS works much smoother and is designed for just one device.

However, I will agree, I do think the iPhone 5 should be a little more than it is. Progress with the iPhone has slowed down quite a lot. The biggest jump was the 3GS to the 4 IMO. The 4S is worth it just for the better camera as well.

Same, got mine too. But then I had to get one really, contract upgrade and I dont really want to touch samsung again with a 10 foot barge pole. Nokia, blah, rather not and my last HTC was horrendous. My iPhone 4 was spot on from the minute go, all the way until I retired it today.

Im pretty techy minded and used to do alot of modding, jailbreaking and messing around with open source but last few years I couldnt be bothered and wanted a product that would always work and I would never have to mod or do something too so that problem could be put right. It was fun, but took time, which nowadays I seem to be having less and less of. Maybe if I had time I would be buying something I could mod but for me, the iPhone is everything I need and want at the moment. e-mail, music, apps, camera, iMessage, facetime, its all things I use daily with people I know. May not be the best phone out there, but its the best phone that caters for my needs at this current time.

About the phone though, I do like it. Just a revamp of the 4 & 4S and I enjoy the sleek and subtle changes. If its not broke, dont fix it. But, Too be honest, I think its a little too light and thin for me, I like having something with substance when im holding it but that problems been solved as ive slapped a nice case on him. Screen is good, A6 processor doesn't disappoint and the new connection is cool. Looks tidy. All in all a really good phone and if your upgrading from 4, like me, you wont be disappointed.
