I've Been Clamped

I have absolutely terrible signal at work. I wish it wasn't the case, but sadly it is. I had better signal in that area with my HTC Hero on Vodafone. Now I have an iPhone 4S on Three. That's why I'm a tough guy to contact but I've explained that to the guys there before. I spoke to a guy on the phone yesterday after I finished work (Finished a bit earlier than usual so I could give them a ring) and gave him my work email address as I always have Outlook open. I know it's not ideal, but it's the only real option I have for contacting them any time of day.
I'm working my arse off trying to get as much money as possible so I can get the car out of their garage. I feel really bad that they're kind of lumbered with it. They want the car gone ASAP so they can carry on with other jobs without my car being in the way. I want the car back ASAP so I can have a cheaper commute to and from work and get around easier. The only thing keeping that from happening is funds and it's really, really frustrating.
I have to pay the DVLA £165 on Friday. That money would've gone to Minispeed. This whole saga is really doing my head in and I don't blame Minispeed/Brooklands Horse Power in the slightest. They've been quite accommodating under the circumstances. Like I said, I really do feel bad about them having the car there but unable to release it until they have the funds; which they're completely entitled to.
I'm even contemplating getting a Saturday afternoon/evening job to bring in more money. It just wouldn't be all that much money and I would've already worked at least 47.25 hours or 52.75 hours so I would be absolutely pooped by the end of the week.

Sell your flash phone and pay the garage - just sounds like loads of excuses to me.
Well I think thats a little harsh, We all struggle doesn't mean we shouldn't have luxuries.
You clearly own a fair few cars (your signature) if you ever have a problem money wise we'll just tell you to sell them then.

That sounds like a good idea. This isn't a dig but have you considered selling a few luxuries that you could do without? Just think you'd have a basic phone but you'd be driving around in an mot'd Mini

But if you use and need your phone? He's all ready paying out for it and if he's on contract which I assume he is, he cant put a 4s sim in any other phone but an iPhone.

He could put it in any other phone that accepts a Micro SIM.

But by the time he's got all his stuff off, which being an iPhone is hassle (I know), Sold it bought a new phone, would've made what £120 its not really worth the hassle.

Sorry Noah, I wasn't arguing for that I was only pointing out it's only a Micro SIM, not iPhone specific.
If he were going to save money on it I agree, he shouldn't have taken out the contract haha.

I am rooting for you mate.!.
It wont be worth chucking your phone now you have it, It would probably only make you £200 - then you need another phone!
Sounds like you are working your nuts off - i admire your dedication to sorting this properly!.
To most in a similar situation i would say, sell the mini - and get a car that will be cheaper to run. But i imagine you love your mini too much to give up on it!.
GOOD LUCK

To be fair your contract is for the service from your network, not the SIM they provide. So if you change your phone to one that requires a standard SIM as opposed to a micro SIM, then you just ring up your network and say "send me a replacement SIM please" (like you would if it was lost, damaged or stolen) and they put a new one it in the post to you.
I kind of agree with Sam though, I have an iphone and if I owed a load of cash to various people, then I'd certainly sell it and make do with one of those basic £9 phones from Tesco until I could save enough to buy myself another one, especially if it meant me getting my car back any sooner. But then some peoples idea of priorities and financial planning can be very different to others I guess.
From what I understand a used iphone 4s will go for somewhere around £250 - £350 on ebay at the moment, so I really don't see how you would make only £120 on selling one. Taking the ebay/paypal fees and purchase of a replacement phone out of the equation, you should still walk away with at least £200. I'd say that's worth it, when you're only trying to raise about a grand in the first place.

I done that when I needed to use my old iPhone for a bit, bloody micro sim got stuck in itWhen I got my phone I watched the guy cut a normal SIM to micro SIM siZe and he let me keep the remainder of the SIM card to use in normal phones again
Just have to put it in two pieces:D
