Mine was the fiesta UJ as I was advised that the splines match up with the mini rack. I would like to put in a second UJ as my wheel isn't parallel with the seat, what you've done has given me some ideas, or fit the fiesta column with both UJ's and graft on the steering wheel part of the mini column. I guess what you've done is what gets done in a miglia, does the steering wheel square up to the seat with this set up?

Skoughi, if you have a look through my build thread (linked in my sig) then you will find how I have done my steering column, it's pretty much the same as AD's but with two UJ's so I could align the steering wheel with the seat, I also marked up the standard column and I think I have a picture to show how far out of alignment the standard column sits (around 1.5" IIRC)
I'm currently remaking my column with two fiesta UJ's rather than the ones I have previously used

Let me know if you can't find the photos and I will be happy to email them across to you
Ben

The wheel isn't square on... Rather annoying but oh well it's next to nothing and I can't feel it when you sit in it so I
dont care! As Ben said, you just use two ujs to get it over and square on to the driver seat. Impossible wih one as the drivers seat will not go over to he left far enough. Handbrake and passenger seat and tunnel in the way.. This was fairly easy to do once I drew it up and done the figurin and the ponderin of what they call method and angulation8)

Done scetches of gear shift mechanism already... Going to be Aaawsome 8)

Oh god that makes my legs go funny.

I love stuff like that.

Zonda interior is like that, physical bits of metal that clunk together so perfectly ah.

Is a Rose joint designed for purely radial movement?

The column is not moving inside the joint, it'd a tight fit so the actual metal centre is moving on the bearing so it is operating correctly. And the joints work pretty much in every operation, rotational etc

Bloody thing was rolled! The repairs were carried out when he was working in the prototype plant at longbridge. All of the car I have now is original and repaired :P. so he hammered those dents out!
