So who's already competing, and in what events? - Sevens, Miglias, Rally, Grass Track etc.

You could also let us know if you are more than casually involved - a marshal, a regular spectator of a particular series...

Who's going to start the list then?

In the absesnce of a racing area, does anyone know what particular mini racing use these 12" alloys?

I was going to strip and paint them for our oval circuit car but a bloke my mate knows said that would be criminal as a certain race series have to use these wheels.

Any ideas?

they look like the standard Minilites fitted to RSPs and other models (I believe), the wheel studs are in line with the spokes as opposed to other Minilites. I can't see any harm on stripping and painting them, it seems that someone has done it before...

dunno' if they're used for any racing series.

cheers; you are right the 'spokes pointing at wheel studs' is what makes them different, and that bloke was quie adamant that a particular race series HAS to use these particular wheels, so I'd rather they went to a good home rather than me bending them!

Look like RSP wheels, do they really insist on this for Mighty mini Racers? they failed the 50KM/PH kerb impact test in Japan, and so the wheel had to be redesigned to be the mainstream alloy after that so it would meet the Japanese type approval... So they are not good in an impact....

Could any of the Mighty Mini people comment on those wheels, else I'll smash 'em up myself (but if they really ARE mandatory for mighty they would be better used by them)

cheers

to be honest they're not actually the mighty minis wheels, as they're the standard rover spi cooper wheels which are the ones with the wheelnut holes in a offset pattern from the spokes.
Those you posted look like the rarer RSP/JCG wheels.

I'd say dont rush into selling them, and refurb them. With this consistant rise of the prices for rare mini spares, they should be worth something in the long term.

Mighties and super mighties can use standard rover 12" minilight alloys or 12" steels as fitted to the spi range...

...though i have seen rsp alloys used... (not many people would notice the different wheel stud placings...)
