Hmmmm this thread is convincing me that I really do need to go down the "ratted" road with my current project!

.... Damn you lot, I can't afford an old Skool roof rack and all those stickers on top of everything else!,

Kiiinda going for rat look, but more like just the old look! Matted paint, stickers (I'm talking about my miglia) are matte faded, ages roundals.

Then attack paint so it's got the body wear nd tear and not pristine batte faded effect blue

Should look cool 8)

So how do you get stickers to stick to a rusty panel like you have on your bootlid?....... or did you apply the stickers first, then sand off the surrounding paint to create the rust afterwards?

The wheels on my clubby were 10x5s on spaced rear drums and 7.5" discs on the front, really filled the arches nicely and looked pretty tough!!!

Just buy good stickers ;)

The rust is on on the surface where it was left in a garden with no paint. A friend painted that rat on it then I cleaned the paint off so it has a rat on there in a different shade of rust.
But the rust isn't bad enough to go through, and it can be rubbed down to metal again easily. It's also all covered in ankor wax to stop the rust getting worse and inevitably going through.

Slightly updated pic from this morning

+1 on the terracotta door look!

As a finishing touch I've gone for contrasting black and white gaffa tape to hold my rear arches on :mrcool:

ive been working on mine for around two years now, although i do like rat look minis that people have "created" ive always preffered the "natural" ones......i just simply dont ever wash mine, if i get a hole in it and the mot man says its needs repair, i do the less amount of repair work i can and then leave it so it rusts again. my mini will never last forever due to this but structurally if anything needs doing or mechanically i always get it repaired properly so the car is as safe as a mini can be.

so now it was rust, mud and mould slowly growing all over the car.....except i have bright orange and yellow wheels haha
