If you get an old one with fixed backs you can prop the seats up and get plenty of space in the back

Hahaha, brilliant picture, almost exactly what I did when my Dad was showing me different adds for cars and a mini came up!

...Mini vans have hard floors and a low roof...seats pushed forwards or not... that's all I'm going to say ..

I can remember the day when you could get a second hand mini with tax and test for under £100 lol. In all seriousness, go for it! get the best you can afford and try avoiding ones that have been tampered with and look for a box standard 850 or 998. My wife and I have a mini which we both use as daily drivers, hers is a 1993, 1275 cooper (Spi) and mine is just a box standard 1977 mini 1000 and both cars are utterly reliable. Buy a Haynes manual and a basic tool kit and you'll be fine. Regular maintenance and tinkering with the mini is all part of the fun of owning one!
