Had a decent dig at the sill seeing as i've no gas yet and quite disheartened at the sight of the rot and extent that the oversills have caused :')
Double sill whammy classic:
This fell out of the healboard area, has a plastic insert in the nut ???
And with the weather being dry but cold it was perfect weather to get the rest of the sound deadening up:

Your sound deadening came up cleaner than mine!
I did mine when it was bitter cold and although it chipped off in huge chunks, it left behind tonnes of black tar residue that took an absolute age to get off with a tonne of thinners!
Shame about the sills but you will get there mate!
Cheers
Ben

Something I think I can help alot with is getting this floor stuff up Ben....
TOP TIP!!:
1. Wait for cold weather
2.Use a wood chisel thats about 25mm across
3.Don't just whack anywere, the main and best place to hit is just half way up the floor grooves with the chisel pointing 25 Degree's to the horizontal
Heres a picture of two pieces that i got up in one go, the sponge is for size reference ahha :
I bet i could get a whole floor section up in one go if i tried ;)
Cheers,
Cliff

Ahh yeah i see that, maybe you'll just have to get a decent rag and white spirits and wipe it off, easy enough to do anyways but still one more thing thats always a pain in the rear no matter how simple because you want to make MAN PROGRESS!! (usualy this involves a hammer ;)

Onwards and upwards, been busy recently making a toolbox from scratch and extractor fan but now they are almost finished i can make time for my own stuff.
Also have a week off soon so shall be cracking on quite well soon enough with the minis.
But update for now is just the flitch welded in place, and a few of the tool box painted up, not bad for a rookie sprayer ;)
And i think i'l focus on the bonnet over the week off, its rusty under the front section and probably means i'l be drilling all the spot welds out of the skin support frame and dealing with that.
Cheers,
Cliff

The etch primer on the toolbox was done by rattle can Tom but the electric blue was a proper spray job, it's some paint thats been left over for a good few years from a spry job on a range rover that me and my dad did. Crazy to think that box was some oily old metal sheet before hand.
Nice project, looked a little crusty but your getting there keep up the good work
Yeah just a little bit of crustyness about
Thanks guys,
Cliff

It's crazy how the later minis seem to rot worse than the earlier ones

Yeha wouldn't fancy getting myself an MPI to restore, they're the worst, even more so than poor old Checkmate.
