Started up straight away, didn't need choke out for long and amazingly the engine temp has kept on normal( normally the aux fan needs to kick in after a few mins on tick over in the garage). All good. Just need to MOT and tax the bad boy now. Very pleased. Will have to go for a cheeky test run round the block tomorrow, me's thinks.

Yep. V easy. Its just a case of fear of the unknown at first. Just need to read the instructions a couple of times and whilst fitting. Mot booked for wednesday, then i can properly test it.

You could do it in an hour if you had all the bits ready, like pipe and fittings etc. Took me longer but i made a new dash to mount it

Its a good day today. Car passed MOT with flying colours. MOT chap asked if i had lost a snap on inspection light, as he found it under the wheel arch, where i had left it magnetically attched to the tie bar! Testiment to snap on quality!

I think my ride height may be a bit low as they had problems getting on the ramps :-)

I also think the amethyst has cured suspected detination, as my engine just does not over heat any more.

Rev limiter set at 5000 rpm at the moment and it works!

You can have multiple maps on the software and 2 usable one whilst driving so I am going to have a switch or button for 'sport mode' and 'safe mode' or you can set it as an immobiliser.

Very impressive

Oh and car does not stall at low revs or bog down at 2500 revs any more!

Do you have details of how you locked the advance on the dizzy? Also did you get it mapped or is it just on the default map?

Took the dizzy to aldon to lock and put an ignitor in. Didn't cost much. It looks simple on the install instructions that can be down loaded, just need to have the dizzy fully open on full advance, using a couple of thick springs.

I Just plotted a 'safe' map to start with 500 rpm 8 degrees and then increments of about 2 degrees until i got to 22 degrees. Will book it in at aldon rr to finly tune after run engine in ( new engine rebuild). Probably need new needle profile as its idling at 1500rpm at moment.

Ive got the boost one, so i've plumbed it in spurring off my boost gauge pipe, but have not put any degrees advance on the air pressure yet, i was going to do that on the rolling road as well.

Fyi

Had it running with just the ingnitor in and started really easily, but still got hot.
Wiith the amethyst in, engine doesn't over heat. But it will be interesting if it gets hotter when the advance is increased when run in.

Yes, for carb engines ( with a dizzy). Controls the amount of advance through the rev range, also an immobiliser, rev limiter, improves the spark

Have you got any photos of where you mounted the box as I'm thinking of going down this route but not sure where it can be mounted.

Thanks
