What's the price of these?
What's the difference with the mega jolt?

About £190. the difference is easier to fit.

And the difference is you keep the dizzy with the aldon, so don't need a trigger wheel or crank sensor, or edis. Whether that is a good this is for you to decide, for example there is more room for an intercooler without a dizzy. But the dizzy is in keeping with the original look.

Following a couple of requests, here's a couple of pics to show where I have mounted it.

A bit messy at the moment, the lining behind and around the dash needs finishing off. Not much to see in the engine bay apart from 2 extra wires to coil

Looks good mate, can't even tell it's installed to be honest.

Once installed do you have to set the timing or does it have a preset that gets the engine running?

Only difference in the engine bay is 2 more wires.

There is a standard preset to get things running. Then just set the timing manually to zero on the pulley wheel and then just type what advance you want on the amethyst software you can change it in increments of 500rpm, upload it from the lap top to the box via a usb lead and that's it really. You can have 8 maps saved and can switch between 2 whilst driving, so you could have a 'sport mode' or 'safe mode' at the flick of the switch. Oh and Map 8 is set at Zero so you can calibrate it all to start with.

Job done. Simples.

Cheers mate

So do you have to set a static position for the dizzy anymore? or is this made redundant now?

If so that makes setting the timing so much easier!

You should get a video up mate of adjusting it on the laptop just to show everyone how easy it is.

With the dizzy, you just adjust it to not advance or retard and turn the engine by hand ( like when adjusting your tappets)and the led light on the box comes on when it is in the right position. Mine was a bit different as I had a new ingnitor off Aldon as well, so the internals of my dizzy are different to normal.

Thats helpful with the light coming on when in the right position. Very hand for me since i'm crap with sorting the timing out

Hi, I've just got this with the boost variant. Where/how did you get the boost feed from? I'm looking at tapping into the manifold after the charger and then running a boost gauge from that.

How did you do it?

When I bought my Vmax kit I got Stuart to put a take off from the manifold AFTER the charger. This was initially so I could have a boost gauge, so I just 'tee'd ' off that pipe off to the amethyst. You should be able to just drill a hole in the manifold and put a hose take off there.

What's the difference with the mega jolt?

Megajolt...

Much more accurate ( no chain stretch, worn dizzy drive gear. No timing scatter at idle )

Wasted spark

Several outputs (for shift lights water injection etc etc etc)

Variable input (can use a temp sensor etc to adjust the map as required)

Limp home mode provided by the edits unit

Map or tps load sensing.

Hard and soft rev limiters

There's probably more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

That's not really a list off differences, more a list of functions of the mega jolt. Amethyst does near enough all of that too!

will do when I can.

in the mean time fyi -  it is mounted vertically on the left hand side near the flange that bolts to the head. mine is a little too close to the flange as its a bit of a squeeze getting the hose on.

There you go. Can't really get my tablet in at the right angle. Hopefully you can tell where it is.
