Just a quick update of tonight's tinkering...

Was never really happy with the steering column mounting since I lengthened the column, although to be fair the original mini fittings aren't that great either. I seem to remember a few of my standard minis failing the MOT due to wear on the lower bushing.

So I got out the welder, a spare column clamp, some more tubing from my old rotary clothes line and got fabricating. Although I've not welded the arms to the top left to right brace bar, I reckon this will eliminate ALL the flex as it's now triangulated from two positions.

But you've shot yourself in the foot as you've now got more 'wood painting' to do!

Welded the captive nuts on the harness mounts, pottered around in the garage and cut the side window seals. Not too much done tonight, but I never got warm after cycling home so gave up.  Note to self, wear leggings tomorrow, not just cycling shorts- it's nearly Winter O_O

Ah yeah, but I'm a soft Southerner, NOT a hard Midlander like your good self. All this cider thins the blood so we feel the cold more..... and you're used to it oop north ;D

The good coating of mud from the trails always helps!

Reliant robin, which seem to be identical to loads of others I've seen at kitcar shows etc..... keeping it British :-)
