it looks in good condition it was under a cover thing and he says it had been respayed , as you have guessed i know nothing about cars so i really appreciate any help and advise . i googled 1275gt from the year mine was buillt which was 1971 and the front of mine looksi  round rather than square if this makes sense , he thinks the owner before him canged the front to  a newer one at some point does this sound right ? i will try and put a pic on but i only have a couple he sent me

Well basically fella, even if the car is a total wreck you have got more than your money back in bits alone. Possibly that head is worth that money if its in nearly mint condition...

1275 GT was a clubman, ie the square front. At some point in your cars life its had the front end changed to a standard 'bullnose' mini, unfortunately the clubman is more desirable but you could have the original front refitted if you ever wanted it.

The 1275GT was the "hot" Clubman, which had the squarer front end, like mine in my signature box below - its quite possible that the front end has been changed to a round nose though, as the panels are cheaper. And yes, sounds like you got a hell of a deal, y2our mate must have been desperate to shift it!

The minispares evolution cam is far away from a race cam, meaning you shouldnt have any problems with emissions at the MOT and you can use it on the road

so ive driven it and the answer to my original question is i have bought a 41 year old rocket , not thinking its really suitable for days out with the kids , with great regret im fairly sure this is gona get washed and sold !!!!!!
