This evening i started the strip down of the subframe so that is now all ready for painting. 

 

 

I also started the prep work for the the new paintjob thats planned :)

 

 

So far so good

I've continued the strip down on the mini with the rub down of the paint almost complete and the Interior stripped out. 

 

 

I Also finished the painting of the front subframe with 2 thick coats of rust proof hammerite. 

 

 

 

Next up was to remove the windows and strip the interior :

 

 

 

This is the paint theme i'm going for, Its Bmw Gunmetal Gloss and i'll be sticking to the grey and black theme to give the mini that tougher look. 

 

 

And these are the wheels i'll be ordering. 7x13 Supertrax wheels with Yokohama A084R tyres: 

 

 

 

 

Slowly but surely its getting there

Hopefully it all goes too plan. The Rear lights believe or not are off a forklift truck but have been converted to leds and with indicator signals.

Well today has been a quite a productive one. I've built my own little spray booth ready for the of spraying either tomorrow or the weekend :)

 

However, Safety wasn't well thought of during the build of it, thankfully nothing happened to my helper  (Ladders at quite a steep angle over the top of the mini)

Today i got 2 coats of primer on mini :)

 

 

Tomorrow i'll hopefully be getting the gunmetal basecoat on

I'm losing the chrome look on it, so i thought it would just make it easier spraying the parts whilst there still on the car.
