A terrible update today
The metro has died ish
I was driving to work on Monday and went to pull away and suddenly there is a horrible grinding in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear not taken it apart yet but its not looking good by the looks its internal gearbox so annoyed only 7 weeks of driving it.
I hope to have a look on Friday depending on the weather really but Ill keep this updated

If it'll drive in 4th then you've stripped the gears off the 1st motion or laygear...

its not a hard job for a guy like guessworks, but im guessing if your asking how tricky it is, you wont want to undertake the first part of the job, which is getting the whole unit out and splitting the box of it. all you gotta do then is send it to guessworks, and slap it all back together and in again

Surprisingly, now I have one, I see plenty more around and there's quite a few cropping up on the flea-bay
If you actually want a metro however, get yourself on to this facebook group....

Not a proper update but dad is building a new MOT centre in the centre of Bristol and we have been luckily enough that the guy who is having it built is letting me using it to get the car fixed free of charge so hopefully the engine will be out this afternoon/evening and I booking this week off to get the engine split and diagnosed to see what's wrong.
I'll keep you posted
Cheers Jack

Got some time to get the hubs and driveshafts off to find the problem but no luck all the spilines loom very good so not them and all the joints are very good condition as well. So took the engine out to have a look inside, whilst doing so I found a snapped engine support bracket which explains the rocking but not the grinding. So took the diff out after the engine was released and that was all in good condition so I'll start on the clutch in the week.
Here's some pictures anyway
