Just looking at wheels what do you guys think of any of these?
And has any one got Photoshop to try and edit them on to the car?

welcome to the world of mk1 metro ownership!
i infinatley prefer mine to any of the minis i have had, even though its nowhere near as fast, but it is way cooler, and much rarer, and the attention they get is far greater than you will get with a mini.
heres mine.....
oh, and as regards wheels for your metro, i have spent tons of time thinking about alternative wheels, but unless you want to really get serious cutting and welding, mini fitment alloys just dont fit as they stick out sooooo far. if you keep trawling ebay old metro alloys do come up and i have seen some very rare aftermarket alloys come up including some ultra rare momos which were like a wider, 13" pepperpot type thing with more dish.

Cheers it get so many comments as no body ever sees them I though I got attention with my mini but I get more in my metro it's brilliant I absolutely love your car probably got me looking for a metro to be honest, it looks so clean and original :)
Yeah I tried my mates they are fine on the rear but the front would be a lot of work I kinda also like the idea more of keeping the metro with some rare metro wheels just keeping my eyes on eBay yeah I quite like the wheels you have and there is a set for £120 at the moment but they need new tyres if memory serves me right.
Ill keep looking see what I can find.
As for updates not much really
Looking at taking the 12g295 head off of my mini and getting it set up on here with my k&n and med stub stack keep the original engine just a few mods I think is my personal choice but plans may change.
Cheers Jack

i have seen those metro turbo wheels on ebay for £120 too, that very expensive for them, they need tyres and a refurb too as i would bet any amount of money that they now leak where the original powder coating has lifted. i have got a few sets of 13" mk1 turbos as spares, i paid £16 for the last set!! you dont want to pay more than about £50-60 for them as, even though they are rare, there are very people that want them anyway!
thanks for the compliment on my car, i think it looks pretty much how i want it now. keep the body very clean and original, but just lower it (properly, dont just let the fluid out!) and it looks great and handles well, especially if you add front dampers!
i think your car looks fab, but i would put the front bumper back on if i was you. if you spend enough time looking on ebay at mini wheels you will find some old 13" ones that come up which were intended to fit metros, but people fitted them to a mini with big spacers, they then get listed as mini wheels on ebay etc. otherwise i did contact force racing about making some up specially to fit my metro, carl said he had done several sets already for metros, but would be about £1300 for 4!!!!

Yeah i thought they were expensive for what they are another reason I like them is I work for GKN aerospace and GKN made those wheels for the metro so would be a cool little touch. How did you lower yours I think mine has just had the fluid released as it jumps all over the place? Also how can you fit a front damper? I looked a little bit but not much came up.
Yeah the bump will go back on I'm just being lazy about doing it haha, I'll keep an eye out on eBay and shows as well you never know

i know what you mean, i like the little GKN markings, however, not all of them were made by them, half of mine are gkn, the others are..... actually i cant remember, but they have a different name cast on them there.
i was considering having a set mirror polished as the front of the rim is so flat it would be quite easy, i was going to paint inside the holes black, or maybe blue if i was feeling brave! there is a set of three spokes on ebay at teh minute, which i must admit, i quite fancy as a kinda naff novelty!
as for lowering it, it like a mini, you let the fluid out to slaken it off, remove the trumpet, chop some off the end, then re-inflate it with new hydro fluid. the front is individual from left to right, and the back is linked side to side, so remove both trumpets, shorten, and reinflate them at teh same time. if you can fit hi-los to a mini, you can lower a metro. there is a guide to it on the metro forum.
as for fitting dampers, HLE, HLS, MG and turbo models have them on the front from standard. it looks like a mini rear damper with a round buch at teh bottom and a threaded shaft sticking up at the back, i have used GAZ adjustable mini rear ones on the front of my metro and you can REALLY make a huge difference with them!
you can see where they mount at the bottom in this picture....

there is already a hole in the top arm to mount it to with a big bolt, and at the top there is a hole to put the top in,on the one side its kind under the header tank, on the other side its behind the battery roughly speaking
edit- i just looked back at the picture of your engine bay and on your car the one top mounting hole for teh shocker is under your battery cut off switch.
by the way, is your car metallic, or is it solid green? is it applejack green?
