Next you'll be telling us you get a perminant working slot there!

With regards to styling you mentioned on my thread, i think you should keep 90% of it how it is because like the paint job it's been done to a high standard and not just a blow over so maybe interior tweeks and things to improve the handling, tryed to find a rear anti roll bar for mine but no luck yet.

Whilst the gearbox is out. if you can afford it you shoud upgrade4 to a central oil pickup and maybe a splash guard, guessworks has a kit and a simple easy to follow guide on his website.

Can you find any info on fiting mini cones to a metro ? i've searched all over the virtual globe (interweb ;) ) but still with nothing more than a breif overview mention of it. Think its a smart move as the hydro units could leak and leave you beached at any point.

yeah ive looked at both of those and they are on a list but payday is two weeks away ahaha, all I know is the rear shocks of a mini fit the front of a metro I didn't know people have fitted the cones to metros, ive seen lupo coilovers fitted but you need to remove the back seats permanently then :P

Ahh intresting, wonder if you wheel arches could be tweaked along with the rear seat frames to house the seats and coilovers, thing is i don't want to steer away from original on my VDP too much to the point i can't take it back to that stock spec.

It's a pictureless update today but I promise some for tomorrow
Some progress got the gearbox reattached to the gearbox and got the new clutch fitted the last things to do tomorrow are refit the fuel pump exhaust and carb and fit a different diff as mine has a bit too much play for my liking, then put it back in the car hopefully should have solved my problem but I don't know yet haha :P Also picking up some bucket seats on Sunday if the car is working so fingercrossed

Suppose it's about time i actually did an update haha so it's been a mad week with this car, started off when we dismantle on ball joint and the socket slipped and ruined the nut so order a few bits from minispares and ball joint nuts not realising it was a stupid size and bigger than standard mini. So dad went to quite a few old school suppliers in Bristol on Friday to find a nut but no joys so order a new ball joint from minispares but that hasn't show up yet so especially annoying as I paid for next day postage :( but all was not lost I found this beauty
20140406_091406_zps6dpwargz.jpg
On eBay £4 NOS so all sorted unfortunately the seller wasn't going back until Monday but after a little but of persuasion he went and picked it up for us which was brilliant :)

20140406_110518_zpspivczaqr.jpg
Prior ball joint removal
Dad and Ali (the garage owner) torquing the ball joint up ;)
20140406_111329_zpso2tzqt3q.jpg
Which meant back on it wheels :D
IMG_20140406_130103_zpsjxeowlc1.jpg
So me and dad pushed the car outside to get it started and disaster the fuel pump was damaged when lifting the engine in and peeing fuel everywhere so another problem, but my mini had a lovely fuel pump sat up home (odd for metro using a mini to be fixed) so off home removed the fuel pump on the mini quick roast dinner :P and back to the car so fuel pump changed and turned over nothing no spark.
So brain starting turning and the idiot that I am used a non ballast coil with a ballast system doh! Then the search for the old coil began which ended in nothing which was rather annoying (one of dads employees binned it we think)
So few phone calls and a guy from my mini club had two coils not sure of what type but it was a lead, so we went to get the coils at about 9pm on Sunday picked then up and I can't thank Andy enough for putting up with all my mini/metro bits borrowed from him.
Back to the car and two coils tried and still no luck and at 10pm in the pouring rain we left the car in the garage.

Dad being a lifesaver ran around today bought a new coil fitted it and no luck still, I came down after work to help whilst waiting for dad I had a look at wires and muppet here thought it was best to put the White and brown to the dizzy and not the black and white something we didn't see Sunday night being dark and assuming The coil.
The waited for dad with the keys so open the door key in choke out and brummmm we have life so after many explicitives from dad we put the bonnet on and went for a drive.

No as nothing was actually found to cause the problem I was still rather nervous as this could be the deciding moment and nothing no knocked banging anything so happy at the moment. So followed dad to a garage for a quick jet wash. Pulled up and within about 5 minutes someone came up and told me how cool my car was :P then clean it drove it home and still nothing all gears worked and the brakes :P looks like I'm finally getting a hold of this car business.
Here's a few random photos

And the first time outside for about a month and now she's home I think that's about it for now haha

Jack.
