Up to now its been a full on motor sport weekend ;)

Friday night was Gary's first attempt at Navigating and what a night ! We came 3rd overall and 2nd Novice which I'm really chuffed about. Gary only knew what i had thought him which was very little but by the the time we arrived at the second control he was on it like a car bonnet ! ;) we were second from last arriving (due to trying to find a phone box that did not exist) and second leaving, he plotted like a man possessed !

The land Rover did us proud altho we struggled a little on the hairpins  ( 4 point turns ) and now aiming to have the Mini up and running in time for the next event in preparation for the Automark Rally in May.

Today i travelled down to see my pal Dave compete in the TOC but unfortunately he had some mechanical problems whilst traveling to the event so had to retire ;( Despite Dave's retirement there was plenty of mini action !

Whilst the Mini's were parked up at Service i had a real good look around them.I'll be spending tomorrow  in the shed Welding ;)

I would appreciate your comments on the Dash an how best to paint it.

Phoned Mini Sport and they are looking into the problem.

Im hoping they will send me a replacement tomorrow or a solution as i really want to get the engine running this weekend.Iv booked the Mini in for a Rolling road session 27/02/14 so all being well should have it for the clubs night nav Friday Night. Whilst at the garage the suspension will be set up properly.

Just hope i can get the car back together in time ! Love a challenge ;)

just got in the house after putting this lot together ;)

Still awaiting a couple of new dials and the speedo will be sent away for calibration. Very happy with the result so far.

I have also ordered some crinkle effect paint from a local supplier and should have it and the dash finished by next weekend. I will be spending most of my spare time now wiring the car up.

Hi rod..... Yes comes on a roll enough to do top and bottom rail plus a posts as per cooper s.... But as your not using your bottom rail I would of thought there's plenty for your needs...... Roll measure 430 x 1280.... I got it from newton commercials and was only about £10 plus postage if memory serves ... My bottom rail is already covered as yours was as yours is the same year and colour as mine, so I'm just doing the a posts and top dash rail..... Then as I've ripped my headlining out to give me an extra couple of inches in height I've got some teal blue vinyl off eBay to cover the inside of the roof....:0)

Cheers james

I used a brush able contact adhesive ( very strong glue ) in the past....... I've just checked and it's £9.78 + vat plus postage.... If you search on newton commercial web site for cooper s dash material it will come up

Cheers James
