Drivers window; The widow operates to go down on the toggle switch, when switch is operated to put window back up, the window rises  as if to close it stops part way up the starts back down again, without any operation of the toggle switch? it does not always happen the window sometimes will close with a bit of assistance by pushing up on the glass.

Hi & welcome - this is an old mini forum (classic mini) not a newer MINI (BINI) forum

so what I say is just a guess

some cars have an anti trap device on electric windows (childs head trapped in window when wound up)

when the window mech is older , the window mech resists upward movement -

- so the motor strains a bit , which is like something poking thru the window slowing movement , so the motor backs off a bit .

helping the window up avoids the motor slowing - so it don't reverse back down a bit & goes on to close

lube the mech - & check the runners / rubbers are all ok & window moves freely

could also be a worn / part seized motor / mech

I hope you can understand what I mean

best of luck

Welcome to TMF. This forum is aimed at classic minis but some of our members have both and may be able to help out. If you don't get any replies, or need an answer urgently, you may find you get a quicker response on one of the dedicated new mini forums such as mini2.com

My car does this, its an annoying amomally . You can have the car reset but dealers sometimes charge for this unless you ask them to do it during a service.

When  mine does it, i just hold the window toggle switch up as opposed to using the one touch feature.

Its a bit annoying but I live with it.
