A bmx team is quite different to road cycling. Still even with 600bhp you can go anywhere you want if the space isn't there

I cycled on the road with a racing bike too - Still got it old Skool

The space is there if you follow the law
The highway code isnt law are you actually reading any of these posts? as that had been brought up a few times
Are you trying to say that the highway code in regard to pedal cycles does not or would not stand up in court? If so then your point is irrelivant
The highway code isnt law it is used as a benchmark for what a sensible driver would do although some points in there are legal but not all of them only ones that include 'must' in the statement

OK Then, you MUST ride two a breast as you MUST stop the cars getting past us as we are cyclists and we MUST have no projection around us and we MUST put ourselves in a position of Danger because the law says that we SHOULD rather than we MUST !!!

Your choise

rather tired off this now you obviously dont want to listen to arguements and arent going to change you mind so this is the last time I will post as I have better things to do now that im not at college.
We only ride two abreast when safe if a car is coming we single out unless there is enough space even when there is the cars pass too close but thats there choice. its nothing about protection its easier for the cars to past a group of 10 long and a bit wider rather than 20 long as you saw the LAW says you must give enough space to safely overtake. again its not the law you really need to understand that. we dont put ourselves in a position of danger as I have said we single out when traffic need to pass unless there is enough space and down some lanes it is safer to stop traffic by riding 2 abreast than have someone perform a dangerous overtake. As you say you were a cyclist in the 80's you wont really understand as the amount of cars on the road is a lot more than back then

Bus drivers are ignorant *******. They're the worst on our roads

Most are ;) I had one who saw I was in a really strong headwind so slowed to 30mph so I could follow in his slipstream it was awesome. By the way this was in a bus lane on straight open road so no/little risk

so you were following too cose, you should not close behind another vehicle. as stated in highway code again, i think you should obtain a copy. do you think it was safe to slipstream a bus, they are known for stopping frequently and every so often people falling out the windows. and if you were that close to him he would have not been able to see you in his mirrors so wouldnt know you were there

Nah it's alright, bus drivers rarely use their mirrors anyway.

It was the bristol portway no bus stops on it I was at the extreme left of the bus so he could see me at all times and kept giving signals to see if the speed was okay he knew I was there as he asked if I wanted to follow him also at 8:30 on a Saturday morning with no/little traffic

oh sorry i missed the highway code were my mate said it was alright to do it. was that number 308? it still wasnt safe to do it but alas no one is perfect. ultimately if the bus driver did stop suddenly it should only have been you who went into the back of him and im sure at least one of the passengers would have recorded it on their phone >_< O_O

Bus was empty there would off been little reason for him to stop for as that road is very open and you can see all everything ahead of you well within time to react. I never said I was perfect?

i try to but yes we do all have our weak moments.

the main problem is not one individual but just roads are overcrowded and everyone is impatient and selfish, its their road and they drive/ride correctly

and creaky, please tell me that you dont wear lycra O_O

noooooo to lycra

yes its good for racing but not on the roads or anywhere else to be fair.

and a nice bubble fairing is more aerodynamic, or a bus apparently but lets forget that

and he didnt wear lycra either when he did that, therefore full bike leathers is more aerodynamic than lycra
