Got to admit to giggling at some of the posts - not taking the P, just how things change! I am forever correcting the way my kids speak and write (I generally dont do it to other adults, unless they ask me to check their work). I just seethe when the kids pronounce V's in the middle of words which should be THs (Bovver instead of bother etc) or Fs instead of THs (featre instead of theatre etc) - I blame Television!
The funny part of this - I originally hail from Dundee on the east coast of Scotland where the accent is (to be fair) fairly horrendous, and I frequently message my mates in the manner that we would talk - so in reality I'm a hypocrite!
As a forum, we come from different backgrounds, professions etcand we all share a passion for a little car that confuses most people as to why - so how we write isnt really an issue. And remember - as Oddball would say - 'Always with the negative waves Moriarity!' . Keep smiling everyone, Its Friday!

I hate it when people say Weather instead of whether. So annoying. Especially in conversation.

My personal hate - When I get an email or see a post with no punctuation, just 3 or 4 lines of continuous writeing that I have to read 2 or 3 times just to get the jist of the meaning!!

some of the posts in here are brilliant, good work folks!!
to be honest brought/bought isn't really a grammatical error, it's using entirely the wrong word - I don't mind the odd mistake in a post, and am guilty myself, but brought/bought is one that I just can't understand, they are different words with different meanings

I was not pointing fingers at others..... I just couldn't understand why brought was used instead of bought, like i said my step daughter says it all the time..... My spelling isn't the best most of the time ......... It was general question really, I have better things to do really than go through all your posts lee ....lol
Cheers jamesSorry James but what was it that was so hard to understand about it, I mean it is simple to work out that a word is spelt wrong and as you said, Even your daughter spells it wrong all the time, This in it self should help you to understand why brought gets used instead of bought.
You can say what ever reason you like now in all fairness but it doesn't take a monkey to see your topic was deliberate and aimed at myself.
And James I've never said you go thru all of my posts, I simply highlighted the fact that you started a thread solely about my spelling,
We could be here all day mate back and forth from behind our computers but I shall be finish off with this.
members can read it for themselves and make there own minds up if they so wish, Me,I forgot all about it after my 3rd cup of tea
i still dont understand why you think i was pointing a finger at you.... it was a simple question.... i dont think ive seen a post from you, just sounds like your paranoid to me
cheers james

The one that always cracks me up is "defiantly" when they mean "definitely". I have an image in my head of the perpetrator standing, hands on hips, with a self righteous look on their face.

The whole correcting posts could go on a while and we still would achieve perfection....
