I personally dont bother waving at them, mostly because they arnt owned by the type of people that own the classics, its the same as waving at the 80 year old in her classic mini, shes confused because its just a car to her that shes had since new.

Most BINIs are just cars to their owners, yes they are a little bit more unusual than most modern counterparts but still just a car.

However if one waved at me I would wave back and I may own one in the future (reliability dependent as from personal experience they can cost a lot of money )

I think any car of the mini family should be welcome
The hints in the name mini show
So any mini should do weather that's a mini metro or a new MINI I just can't see why people signal out new minis

I think the whole issue with new ones are the issue people have with BMW, When BMW bought out a lot of British companies (mg, rover, etc etc) they stripped them all bare and sold all the assets etc. Whilst also pulling all the trade marks and taking a lot of smaller automotive businesses to court for using those trade marks (why M-Machine is called that and not Mini-Machine I believe).

Due to BMW being a bit of a bully I think that caused a lot of friction with mini owners, other than that I cant see why because the original new BINI was a rover design, but then again there was a lot of friction when the injection minis came out because they 'were not real minis'

I can! It doesn't share a single component with a mini! Can I bring a mini bus? That has mini in the name...

A chavy bini flashed me yesterday on the way home from Dudley. I don't care how snobby it seems, they don't deserve the mini name and the wave and flash that comes with it.

That's business baby and anyway Rover went bust due to union strikes and poor company management if it wasn't for the BMW bullies we would properly have cheep chines minis with their poor build quality at half cc engines with even less bhp then a hamster in a used bog roll.
This is kinda going way of topic all I wanted to know is what I could do to make my mini look more friendly?

Gotta love all this MINI hate.. people get so worked up about it!

It's a car, just get over it and move on with your life.

Or is MINI bashing a hobby..?

You're turn into a reet bini lover when your not driving a micra!

Seriously tho don't try and force the bini untied thing on people and then you will realise nobody is bothered!

But I won't be waving at a bini! (Unless it's broke down)

That's fair enough I don't ask how to change people view on them just how to make a bimi more mini friendly to people who have accepted the bimi. I do wave at all classic when in a classic mini and do look out for any Bimi wavers or modifiers for that matter.
