You've really done a great job with that dash. It all ties in so nicely  :-)

Cheers Jared and yes F1L8EY, soon be time for roadworthy.

Pushed it out onto the front lawn, planning on cleaning up all the tools and the backyard area, it needs a good tidy as there's alot of sawdust from cutting the MDF for the dash.

Car is covered in dust too, just general dust from living in such a dry area, needs a wash, but I still have to take it back to the painter to let him buff it up, so may just leave it for him to wash.

Got a few snaps of it...no brakes yet, and looks like I need a clamp to hold that exhaust pipe higher up. Time to get cleaning up

I wonder how far along it would have been if I was still working, probably still in primer!

Sounds about right.....

Great job, looks great!

Dust aside, she really does look good. You can be happy with the results, that's for sure.

Tried to start it up earlier, no joy. Doesnt want to fire up. Have done a quick test with a bulb, getting power to the + on coil, getting power to the HT lead from coil and getting power on - side of coil *only* when I disconnect the wire that goes to the dizzy. Is this normal or an issue? No spark when I hold a HT lead close to the block either.

Then to top it all off, rod for interior door handle came off the lever, so had to remove it and check to see if the plastic had broken. Thankfully it looks ok, but I'm going to reinforce it with a piece of metal tomorrow.

Looking good out in the yard in the sun there!

Are your + and - low tension wires connected to the coil and distributor fine?

Got the loan of a multimeter, started testing the ignition system.

Coil tested fine, then tested dizzy, the small piece that opens and closes the point was nowhere near the shaft. Fixed that up, then set about checking the dizzy drive was correct, it wasnt, out 180degrees.

Spent a bit of time nudging the car forward until I got the 1/4 mark then followed the instructions in the haynes manual, moved it forward out of gear to let me get the jumpers onto the battery, then gave it a try and it started.

Running as rough as a badgers A**E at the minute, but just happy that its starting!

Ordered new exhaust, from extractor down pipe back. Old one was just a slip on fit, but its rather tatty, rusty and looks like its been stick welded together. Back box baffling seems to be collapsed also.

Went to adjust my clutch throw out, take up all free movement on the arm by pushing it away from the slave, as per the haynes, mine kept going and going and eventually touched the bodywork. Hmm, thats not right, unclipped the bottom pin and removed the arm, sure enough I found the issue, ball has snapped clean off. Managed to get the ball out of the socket with some needle nose pliers, then picked up a replacement arm locally.

Replacement one fitted and adjusted so all should be good.

Also broke one of the boot hinges the other day, one stud was dodgy anyways and other eventually gave way. Managed to pick up a replacement locally too, so just waiting on the clear coat to dry and then put it back on.

Rear cylinders also installed, just need to bleed the system. Havent received my reverse switch yet, hoping it comes today.

A bit more done today, decided to install a battery kill switch, just to save having to take the terminal off the battery if its not going to be used for a while.

Also made up a boot board, sits on top of the spare wheel, has a divider underneath to close off around the battery area. Covered in a non slip foam. I have left enough cable to allow me to lift the spare wheel out without needing to disconnect the switch.

And a mean looking shot which is now my new facebook picture!

Don't know what is going on with the post service lately, been rubbish, still waiting on my reverse switch, planning on getting roadworthy done on thursday after getting the new exhaust on, hopefully have it on the road for the weekend..
