Thanks for that.  I'm running a minispares cooper s disc conversion with no spacers and they fill the archers perfectly.  Mines a 95 Mayfair SPI and I could be wrong but I think the rear brakes on later minis have built in spacers?

The 6x10' Minators I had on in the summer came just outside the arches and just about legal.  I think both wheels would look on yours, seen a few clubmans with reverse rims and I have to say, I thought they looked awesome but then I am slightly biased.

Finally decided on wheels - Im going to have exaction splits made by Force Racing, just won this set of Exactions for a bargain £48:

http://www.ebay.co.u...cvip=true&rt=nc

I think they will be going satin black with the polished split rims from Force, and have my Speedwell wheel centres seen earlier in the thread. The genuine Speedwell BRM wheels were satin black so this will be a nod those in that sense! No other progress, waiting for my engine crane to be repaired to get the engine back in and also for the weather to warm up, dont like the cold.

Now have the Exactons (discovered this is the correct term rather than Exaction) - total bargain, came in at £55 delivered to me from Plymouth! Will get the tyres removed and the rims shot blasted and then drop them off at Force, who are about 40 mins from me. Not sure whether to go for 10x5 or 10x6, will ask their advice upon delivering them.

Also fitted the hubs with excellent NOS BL balljoints, so much nicer to work with and install than the ones you can buy new.

And a snap of the other beast, 150 BHP and running strong!

Go 10 x 6 for the exactons. Nice width without going too mad, again i'm biased as that is what my lad has. Its just getting the right arch combo to offset them.

Do you reckon the W&P arches I currently have would cover the 10x6 splits Neil?

I have seen those Speedwell wheels Rocket and would love to put them on but unfortunately I cant get rid of the arches! All 4 have left deep marks in the paint where the rubber trim strip goes, no way they would come out nicely without a re-spray. Potentially a future purchase but for now I need wheels that fit under the W&P's; the Speedwells dont, could run them with spacers but it would look silly as they were never run that wide. Will certainly watch them with interest though!

W&P may cover them but not sure. Scott will be going for full carbon fibre arches but as to whos we are not sure yet.

Ah that's a shame would defiantly look good on your car especially with all the speedwell goodies you've got !

Out of interest where did you find your ball joints ? Mine need doing soon so I'm on the look out for some NOS ones

They look really smart. Will do this one day. Got a set of 5 exactons in the garage.

Rocket, the ball joints were from ebay, 2 sets with 3 in each (one used from each) so I now have two spare for future use - paid per set of 3 what a set of 2 new ones cost from minispares - bargain.

No real progress as my engine crane is still broken so I cant lift the engine back into the subby. I did lay out all the Speedwell and other period shizz again though as the collection has grown, and I like laying it all out as it feels like a 60's accessory shop display :D

Oh yes, she will be at a few shows over the summer, starting with the MK1 Action weekend in Blyton, 10 mins from my house :)

Just been sent a pretty incredible picture from a fellow on the MK1 Performance forum who worked on her pre-paint job, showing her in her original state:
