Spent yesterday contemplating the wheel dilemma whilst working on her and had decided to stick with the Exactons for now, but then I came in and saw the consensus here, indecision returns Carthorse will agree with the descision though I think - for now it is likely that I stick with the Exactons - Ive always wanted a set and the arches, being Wood and Picket, are a period mod that one could buy when the car was new - who knows what she will have on 12 months from now though. I can pretty much guarantee that you will see her with rose petals in the near future - if I see a genuine 60's set I will probably have them.
So, yesterdays progress - stripped the rear subframe, now ready to be taken to the powdercoaters next week along with a few other bits from the rear. Also spent a bomb on Minispares (again) for all the bits to rebuild the rear to the same standard as the front.

Also installed the wiper motor, forgot about it earlier, you can see it in this pic:

Getting rid of underseal and waxoyl today to bring back the stonechip underneath!

Was going to strip waxoyl but what with getting covered in the stuff over the last few days removing the subframe (that and brake dust, which stuck to the waxoyl!) I decided to do a clean job and start on the interior - at least I thought it was clean. Writing this in the bath as I am covered in carpet glue! Somehow its even in my hair But the carpet went in great, so Im happy. Unfortunately, once again, the pictures are pretty shoddy, the SLR basically doesn't work in the garage lighting and the phones camera makes it look terrible - the wheel and dash wood matches much better in person.
Carpet in:

Dash mocked up with gauges:

Also mocked up the watches but would have needed a third arm to take a picture!

The subtle flying "S"

And finally, me with carpet glue... all in the hair.

Thanks, it took a bit of messing to get the dash to fit well, planing the edges so it slides nicely in between the top and bottom dash rail covers - didnt want the gaps you usually see round the edges of these dashboards! Fitting the main clocks today.

Full up with lamb after Easter lunch, I did the nice, relaxed job of mounting the main clock cluster and the Heuer Rallymaster - the interior is now complete minus the seatbelts, Im waiting for a set of NOS Kangol ones to pop up, according to the original instruction manual which is present, this is what she would have come out the factory with. Im also not sure whether or not to swap out the DSN door furniture for factory items - the DSN throttle pedal has gone for the standard one with the Speedwell pedal extension... something else to ponder.
Interior as it is:

Good to hear, not much to report as of late though! Dropped the rear subframe off with the powder coaters last Friday and hope to pick it back up this Friday - in the mean time I have blasted and painted the backplates and built them up, radius arms are half way through being done. I really should take more "in progress" shots but always seem to forget until whatever Im working on is done! So, here are the two finished backplates

Also decided to try the Super Autavia in place of the Mastertime:

Thanks, I like the idea of owning something unique, something that will hopefully stand out! Time will tell.
Just won a set of seat belts, Kangol Magnet type which were (according to the original manual, which I have) the ones fitted from the factory. They need a bit of work but were the only set available and I really need a set to complete the interior by the 2nd May deadline! Will have to find the little BMC stickers somewhere.

Thanks, yeah the seats are the originals that have been re-covered, not sure if they are custom or a kit, the rear is the same.
Just bought the exhaust and a few other bits, full stainless RC40, wheels due back late next week.
