You can't cheat as such when doing the hinges, you still need to change the A panels etc, but yeh no worries I'll do a detailed jobbie for when I do the hinges... :)

I am going orange, black, and red... mainly orange and black....

Anyways, I now LOVE maniflow!!
Ordered my link pipe at the malvern show, on Sunday, its now tuesday, and it arrived in the post, with fitting kit, and an extra bit of 2" pipe incase I want to fit it to a Van or something.... :- not bad for £30 eh!!! Custom made to fit my 2" backbox (also Maniflow)

Its a 1.7/8" system with a silencer, with an exlarged opening for the 2" backbox to fit snugly :)

Heres a few pics...

Well all I've got to do with power... is weld in my mk1 plates, weld two 2p sized holes, and trim up the inner wings that I left behind when chopping the front off.....
Then its filling, painting, and start the rebuild :w00t:

Got a good deal on some red oxide.... £17 for 5litres of paint, and 2litres of White Sprit :o Should do the inside a few times, and the bulkhead n boot :D

is the white spirt for thinning the paint?

red oxide, sort of a nightfire red colour? :w00t: :o

ive got a bit off the inner sill to do on both sides, 2 drain holes in the rear floor plan to weld up. old sill lips to remove and then grind back all the welds. then sandblast. then weld up all the front end etc.

have you welded on your outer sills yet?

Sills are done
Posted Image

Front end is on order with Smudger...
Subby will be painted soon as I get it out....

Then its rebuild with stronger parts, restore and ft my S brakes, get some wellies for the KN's so i can setup the suspention, after fitting the inteoir...

Only thing thats holding me back, is my engine, I can't afford some of the bit for it..... So there maybe be a chance I'll miss Drag Wars!

Chris,
You must have a numbarse by now!!!
36pages and you read the lot lol brave man... even I won't re-read it lol

I know Maniflow are awesome, reason why I went for them rather than anything else....
I've basically now got a full maniflow exharst system...

stg2 Maniflow LCB
1.7/8 Custom link pipe with Silencer
2" Maniflow backbox...

All I need now, is a Maniflow twin 1.5" SU inlet manifold, and I'll have the lot :w00t: :D

MOWOG,
Like you I have another car to run, and other things to do outside of my little Mini world, I might or might not have my engine by Drag Warsm I'll have to see, I can't promise anything. If I'm there, I'm there, if I anit, I'll be in the garage, working on the darn thing lol

All in all, I have got to dot he cosmtic Welding and filling now, and thats the body done :o
