I did. Its an easy job too.

Depends what look your going for.

Cut 2 square plates to go under the scuttle and clamp them in place.

4-5 small tacks is enough. Seam welding will just distor the skuttle.

Looking good Mart! How did the boot liner fit? I welded up my spare wiper holes - cut a little round plate and held it in the hole with my magic patching tool - magnet on a stick! Like Jack said, coupla tack welds and the jobs a good un. Get it sorted! ;)

The boot liner is a tad too short, but no problem... cut it down the middle, and rivieted an extention in...

Engine kit neatly all ordered :(

1380 A-Series block
Vernier Adjustable Duplex timing
Morspeed "Trackday" camshaft
A+ Balanced con rods
73.5mm Powermax with a 10cc dish, pistons
NEW 1275 A+ Crankshaft
new bearings all round
Rebuilt GT gearbox, with a Minispares pin diff (3.44)

Still to get;

Orange Clutch - all thats needed
Lighten flywheel
Morspeed Trackday head
1.3 roller rockers... (maybe)


Just trying to work out what colour to paint the engine lol!

Well the ideas I have are;

Red - boring
Green - Different in an orange car
Yellow - yeh...
Chrome - hard to clean
Silver - meh
Black - shows the dirt
Blue - Either dark or light...

I like the idea of Dark blue, along with some Chrome....


Think that'll look nice in a orange & red engine bay...

Well Minisport came up trumps :wub: The new crank arrived today!

So started building my enigne...
a little clean up[ of the edges so there are no "sharp" edges...
Bearings cleaned & oiled
Cleaned the crank & oiled

Caps on, and its just soooooooo smooth now! :crazy:
I should get my pistons & Rods & cam tomorrow, so I can finish the short engine :(

have u used thrust washers? If not, your gunna have to take that centre strap off.

That chain looks huge!!!!
