Its actully a clean pot, which has some 20/50 oil in... I couldn't find my oil can... so I used a Seringe, and a pot of oil :wub:

Jordie -

I think I might, after all, it can't cost that much...

Wooohoooo!
I love morspeed lol!

73.5mm Powermax pistons - 10cc dish inc rings...
Balanced A+ con-rods
Morspeed P3 cam (trackday)
and new core plugs :wub:

So all I need to do now, is nitromors the block ready to paint, and finished the edges, and I could have my short engine done this week :crazy:

Well I've painted the block, its now yellow :(
Installed the crank again, but had a slight problem of the crank locking up once I torqued the caps down to 63lb/ft, so took it a part again, and found a slight burr, so file out, and wet n dry, tis fine now :xxx:

Fitted the cam, it turns nice n smooth now I have got the correct end float.... Just need to fit the timing chain, and get a Dial gauge to time the cam in spot on :P

Tis all getting there... but I've still got plenty to build;

Doors;
Finish off cutting out the centres
Finish off the sliding window mech
Try and fit the doors to the Mini

Bootlid;
Fit re-enforcing panel to the back - as a boot liner
Fit Mk1 bits - Full number plate setup
Fit Mk1 bootlock
Fit Zues fasteners
Fit to Mini

Once the engine is installed

Front end;

Trim it up ready for lights
Trim for Grille
Set the height
Trim Skuttle panel areas
Cut off A-Panels

Then I think I'll only be a month or 2 off being ready for paint... :xxx:

Lots to do then.

Had my engine fire up today for the 1st time. After sorting out the dizzy (180out :( silly me). I never used a dial guage, just did it DOT to DOT with my 286 and the way it was running today, i would say its spot on..

Ahh you see I can do a dot-dot timing no problem, but I'm not going to do that with the epense that I've gone and done...

I mean, I might aswell get the most accurate timing I can, after all... I do have an adjustable timing gears :(
and they do say, 1 or 2 degrees in one diaraection can increase/degrese torque/bhp!

So I'm going to timing it in best I can (infact I'll set it 1/4* shorter to allow for strech)

I know, its funny that bit.
I wish they could of added the bit about installing the cam!
Would be most usful to me...

Well I still have alot more the pay out on the engine... ordered a new gearset, SC drops, a Rob Walker stg3 head, new clutch, and I am in the process of rebuilding my twins...
in which I am going to send the dash pots, a MG Rocker cover, and my Altanater braket off for Chroming :(

I've also got Megajolt to get, so going turn the old dizzy hole into an etra breather - I'm also considering a front mounted rad...

Nothing now...
But I found I needed to install the timing plate, before finishing off tightening the cam...

I'm starting to collect blocks now too, mainly as a just incase measure, or if one day I get bored, I can build another engine.... :(

did you put the gasket on between the block and the plate? Then its just the 3 bolts on the triangle bit and the cam is in.
