More like a brushless and lipo setup! That will get it shifting

It's not all about power. I've got a 15 year old (not much left original though) 1/10th nitro monster truck/stadium truck that I still regular use to bash with. To start off with it was originally a .15 engine, 2 speed and 4wd out of the box, but the drivetrain simply couldn't handle it even when new. Plus you could never really get up to it top speed before running out of space. So after having the 2 speed eat itself and paying £50 for a short shaft and bearing and have the metal diffs eat themselves at £30 a pop, I've converted it back to a single speed. Witch may well now not be as fast, but doesn't eat it's drivetrain with every half tank of fuel.

The same sort of thing with the Tamiya m03's both stand and quite heavily modified one. If I were to use anything lower than the 20 turn motor I'm already running in one of them, I'd be needing a new set of front tyres every run.

Popped a cheeky 15 turn motor in today and grabbed a better steering servo while I was at the shop as this cheap one is sounding rough already.

I want one of these at some point. :shades:

I've heard this so many times and every time someone buys/builds one it always ends in disappointment when they try and fly it for one of two reasons:

1. The person tries to fly it and can't fly so it ends up getting destroyed. The thing in the video is the kind of thing you fly after about 5 years of experience after you have flown sports aircraft like what 4's and had a funfly like a cougar or limbo dancer.

2. Scale spitfires (and most other scale aircraft to be honest) don't fly all that well compared to their counterparts which were designed to be an RC plane from the start. This is because fluid mechanics don't scale. A general rule of thumb is the smaller the scale the worse it flies.

I've test flown a couple of spitfires for other people and to be honest there are much better aircraft on the market. The best I have found was about a 56" span chipmunk or a 72" CAP 323. I'd still rather stick to my WOT4 and Cougar though.

My advice if you want a scale spitfire is to build one and then never fly it. You will get the enjoyment out of building it without the disappointment afterwards.

Can a mod edit my post please. The autocorrect keeps changing W O T (without the spaces) 4 to what 4. The name of the plane is a W O T 4

Lots on Ebay for £10 to £15 but the postage is another £10 :(

TBF £10 is very cheap. I would expect to pay around £30 for a very good/new 1/10 scale. :shy: Sure It's not the decal kit your looking at, because £10 seems too cheap for a decent body. >_<

All seem to be this price. Cheap if the postage was the normal £6 UK postage.
