Thought I'd share some pics of my latest RC build. It's a FPV truck based on a Traxxas Summit, fitted with a genuine 1970's Tonka Body.

Using a Gopro camera on a homemade pan and tilt gimbal means you can look around as you drive, it has a long range 1.3ghz video transmitter and a UHF radio link for super long range.

The steering wheel is attatched to a servo so the wheel turns when you steer and with the driver doll's hand fixed to the wheel it looks like he's driving.

Added a few extras, two digital battery voltage indicators and LEDs on the dashboard to indicate Hi or Lo gear selected, diff lock engaged and low battery warning.

Does anyone have a working or complete broken R/c mini they are willing to sell? preferably the Tamiya m03 based one.

Got my m03 on EBay before Christmas for £73.
This seems to be about the right price for used ones.

I use mine in my lunch break at work a couple of times a week. Asiatees and RCmart are great for hop-up parts and great prices.

I'm getting fed up with eBay to be honest. I found one last week that was local with a smashed body an no electrics. Offered £60, but told he wanted no less than £100, as he had someone already buying it. 3 days later its still on eBay and sells for £49.

All I need is a half decent chassis and some electrics to work with (got plenty of spares, but odd numbers of everything) to build someone I know there own r/c mini, so they can stop using one of my 2.

The chassis is the cheap part £5.20 on RCMart http://www.rcmart.co...ath=595_744_707

I need a little more than just a chassis though...

Looks like you have most of it once you add the chassis? I have a box of bits if you are just missing a few bits then let me know?

even though I have most of the parts for some bits, its the missing bits of the suspension arms (if anyone need anything from the second pic?) I'd still need to buy the whole parts tree

So for the chassis I'm looking at,

http://www.modelspor...r-products/2153

suspension arms, battery holders, body posts and bumpers

http://www.modelspor...r-products/2155

Plus an extra fiver for the gear parts, so about £25 in total for the main chassis.

But its things like the coil springs for the shocks that would require a whole parts bag of screws witch I already have at the cost of £8. Or the splined  (not the square drive ones used on the m05) diff outdrives (what would be the pot joints on a minis diff) that also require a whole parts bag for at £28 and I can't find them separately, or at least not for the mini/mo3.

Then its just body, tyres, and electrics (receiver, handset, esc, battery and charger)

I would use RCMart as the are much cheaper (prices in US dollars). Postage is about £5 and most bits arrive in 5 working days.

Chassis http://www.rcmart.co...rt-p-18752.html $7.50

Plastic suspension parts http://www.rcmart.co...ath=595_744_707  $8.70

Gears http://www.rcmart.co...ath=595_744_707 $3.70

Total $19.90 = £13.73

If you spend £25 on parts this is still cheaper than buying a used car on Ebay :)
