no interest in watching it with out the old team.well done jeremy and amazon, what aloss for the bbc just for one punch
Well one punch when he was on a final warning for being racist more than once, plus in this "one punch" incident, he again racially abused someone.
I loved top gear and Jezza, but you can't just allow bigoted events (even if the person themselves isnt bigoted) to go unchallenged.
On a side, just watched yesterdays episode, really enjoyed it. To my shame never heard of the long tail and boy what car, JB was his usual excellent self. The petition to get a multi million salaried F1 driver to presenter a motoring show is childish at best. I liked the South Africa trip, Eddie Jordan wasnt annoying which was nice.
They still need to work on the celeb bit though, im not a fan of treating it like a game.

One advantage that Clarkson + co have is that they are very good friends off and on screen. So they could take the pee and wind each other up in a "natural" way. The current lot can't do this and have to seem a little too enthusiastic to have the show exciting.
That said though you can clearly see him who Chris Harris is far more natural as an on screen car journalist....
That's because he has been doing motor journalism for a number of years now, very successfully

Yes you are right. His videos on YouTube are very good... Especially the P1 vs La Ferrari vs 918

I'e always hated Chris Evans, I'm honestly not just on the 'hate new Top Gear' bandwagon, I just can't stand him. He's a poser, knows nothing about maintaining or even driving the cars he owns, and just annoys the hell out of me in general with his mannerisms... I went into it with a very open mind, I tried so hard to like it, but in all honesty it was an absolute pile of dog mess from the word go.... As soon as they started running and hi-5ing each other I literally face-palmed.
You could just tell they don't get on behind the scenes, and it was all forced for the camera. The problem with Matt is that he's an American trying to pull off (badly scripted) British humour, and that really doesn't work at all. Most of the time he just seems either ticked off or bored anyway.
Driving the Robins to Blackpool seemed utterly pointless, Towing them behind the Landy and Jeep seemed utterly pointless, strapping rockets to the Viper and Vette seemed utterly pointless, and as for the guest segment, at least before they would subtly mention what they were promoting in a relaxed manner during the interview. Now they stare creepily straight down the camera and spend half the interview telling you what they're promoting (referring to the one with Ramsy and the other guy who I forget).
I've never cringed so hard in one hour than I did while struggling through that first episode... No chance in Hell was I going to watch the second one. I think I'd rather sit and watch the washing machine go round for an hour. Bring on The Grand Tour I say!!!
And not to mention the digs at Clarkson! I mean fair enough, I was expecting a few, but they could have been much more clever and subtle with them, instead of just blatantly shouting out the obvious catering and bombshell related ones... I mean, It's like no imagination has going into the show at all, it's all just a poor imitation of what the other 3 originally made great. They could have started from scratch, which would have been slightly better, but it would still have been rubbish because the presenters are rubbish... Evans is a prick, Le Blanc has the charisma of a corpse, Sabine (while being a very talented driver) is just cringey to listen to, and the rest I have yet to witness, but to be honest, Chris Harris is the most hopeful one of the bunch, and even he is not suited to Top Gear in my opinion; he's too straight and serious, and not silly enough.
aaaaand breathe....

He certainly gets his hands dirty from what I've seen and heard though. If the telly is to be believed, then he changed the plugs on his Maserati Merak in the cheap supercar challenge, and how about the wiring loom repair on the 928 during the Argentina special? Just a couple that come to mind. I get the feeling that he knows more than he lets on, probably for comedic purposes.
Even if that was all for the cameras though, at the end of the day he would often openly admit to not knowing much about general car maintenance (fear of manual labour), which made it more surprising and entertaining when he did get his hands dirty. Evans on the other hand try's soooo hard yet clearly wouldn't know how to even change a tyre, and the fact he has all those priceless Ferraris, and then destroys the value by painting the damn things white!! Like I said I think he's a complete poser.

Fifth Gear cancelled
"Just days away from the premiere of BBC's reimagined Top Gear and only a few months away from Clarkson, Hammond, and May's new Amazon series The Grand Tour, but England's third car program has just bit the dust. Fifth Gear, which rose from the ashes of the original Top Gear in 2002, has apparently been cancelled due to a lack of funding. Longtime host Tiff Needell announced the news in a series of tweets. Needell, along with Vicki Butler-Henderson and Quentin Willson, joined Fifth Gear after BBC's first iteration of Top Gear, which they all co-hosted, was cancelled in 2001."
"After an unbroken run of 29 years presenting either Top Gear or Fifth Gear it feels weird not to have any filming dates in my diary!"
