managed to get my tappets done today as well as getting the new head gasket on, the old tappets didn’t line up very well on the valves so I decided to place a washers to space the tappets out, so that the surface of the tappet lined up with the valves

If your pockets are too deep your rings could pertrude into them and could cause loss of
compression :'( I assume you have checked this out !

yep checked it out already i have plenty of clearence from the upper ring so my compression should be ok but i still have to check the compression ratio on the engine but cheers for the advice camp freddy

finally got round to putting my H2O pump on and its all looking looking good at the moment, checked to see if there where any leaks and thankfully it is fullyt sealed post some pics later!

woo engine is finally done now there is only a few minor things to be done to the body work and interior and she’s ready for the mot !!!! :)

I used fuel tubing instead of the standard bi pas hose to prevent the hose from splitting or blowing all the time

The choice of colour you have used on the engine is very nice. I mst say. Most people go for red or blue. Is this a mustard yellow? I like :gimme:

lol yh I know the thermostat housing is on the wrong way but I temporally placed the housing on to stop any dust or anything else crawling into the waterway all done now though

yh I wanted an engine that had a difference I used normal hamerite I think this is the only yellow they do!

I finally got me car back from my mates after it being up there for over 5 months, brought it back with the intension of selling the car and everything I had as the need for a car grew larger, after trying to sell the car i got the impression that I was ether trying to sell it for too much or people just did not want to buy it
everything and getting the most money possible, but as always it never works out. so I finally decided to start work on my car, this is what i did today!

As you can see i have cut the whole front end off, with the intension of buying a one piece flip front!

got the rear subby off today, was a pain in the ass to get off amongst the bolts snapping and the dampers being rusty as but did it in the end here is a picci

just a little update on the mini, got a mig comming next week so i should have the welding done soon, this is what ive done to the rear subby so far!

sand blasted and painted the arms *(correction arm!)
